I didn't think it was needed, photo of the box art, history, yada yada. Tamiya 1\48 Skyraider A-1J. EDUARD PE frets #49296. Picked up a BlackBox Cockpit, but it just doesn't look right. Still researching before making a decision.
Waiting on a D&S book I found and some other pieces for the puzzle. I usually build armor so this is quite the adventure for me. I need to charge the fishing camera to get some build shots or find a cable for my phone. Either way, I'll post some build photos when I get started.
Thanks ya'll and cheers to ya.. Drink a craft beer

Cool! Amazing plane.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

I started cleaning up parts for the cockpit, yesterday after waiting on the mailperson to show up with the boxes. I guess it depends on how anal you want to get, but 2 different styles of seat configuration has thrown me for a loop.

The BlackBox still needs the tub cleaned up. I also want to use the Eduard instrument panel along with the back wall, seat from the BB, but use the tub from the kit. Any thoughts...
Thanks,
I don't know man... I would just build it OOB. Skyraider cockpit is very hard to see unless you plan on cutting a hole in the fuselage. You can sent me the money you save on the aftermarket if you want Great subject though. I'll be building the monogram kit sooner or later. I loved that kit as a kit with the bumble bee on the tail--really captured my imagination and left a lasting impression.

Looks good Chris. I dono, it seems the cockpit would be pretty easy to see with that bubble canopy. I would go with the AM pit for sure.

See 5' - 12" through 5' - 20" + 5' - 40". That should give you an idea of how much can be seen:

Great video, had already watched it and had it save. Really liked the way it was painted. Thanks
Think I will have a couple hits and a few IPA's and think about it. Sucks when you can't find the answer. Seems like someone never took that photo of what you need to see. Worry about tomorrow.
That is NOT a Stanley Yankee ejection seat. Is that the BB cockpit for the J variant? That is way off. This is what the Squadron/True Details seat looks like:
