Got a few progress pics.  The engine for the -4 is done, not ging with the PE ignition wiring, it would frustrate me beyound recognition.

Got a start on the seat for the -4 as well, still have the belts and seat mounts to do.

The main gear bay has 6 pieces glued to the rear bulkhead.  Ready for paint.  Same for both versions.

The office for the -3 was done OOB, with tape for the belts.  Still have to do some paint for buckles.  Otherwise it's done.

Interior of both fuselages have been painted, -3 shown.  Interior Green.

MM and Tamiya paints will be used throughout.

Pit is -3, other pieces are -4.

I may have to add one of those to the stash with the PE parts. I'll be watching this for sure.

BK - Trumpter actually makes three versions of the 'Cat, early and late of the -3 and the -4.  Except for the wings, guns and gun bays the late -3 and the -4, looks like the rest of the parts are the same, including a clear cowl.

Was surprised that in this scale, and as well detailed as the rest of it is, no seat belts included or molded in. The Eduard cockpit set has belts in it, so would be something to look at adding.

The control surfaces are hinged with PE hinges and metal pins glued to the control surfaces. Looks like a slick way to make them moveable.

Well now, this is cool. I still haven't added one of these to the stash. I'll be watching this one to see which one to get.

Will get started Tuesday or so.  Veterans appts today and tonight.  Working on an AO claim.

You two are just some that set the standards I hope to build to one day.  Don't be afraid to jump in any time with comments, good or bad.

I've always wanted to build one of these especially the F4F-4.  Will be following!

I had signed up for the Midway GB, grabbed a Trumpter 1/32 F4F-3, and then found out the only -3's were Marine birds stationed on Midway.  Wanted a carrier based 'Cat, so back to the drawing board.  Enter Trumpter 1/32 F4F-4.  Most kit parts are the same, only differences are in the guns and wings.

Will be doing both at the same time, the -4 will be marked as Thatch's ride from VF-3, Yorktown, and will be using Montex canopy masks, Eduard cockpit PE and Starfighter decals, and set on a carrier deck base.  The -3 will be OOB, with a different paint scheme I have never heard of let alone seen any reference to.  That will be the surprise as it finishs up.
