Few problems here and there, but as an experement with the hard demarcation camo I'm very pleased.  I may dive into a few more Brit aircraft - always been a big Typhoon and Boulton-Paul Defiant fan

Had a few Future gloss coat issues, but got most the decals on.  Ready for some mild weathering and a dull coat

Very nice! I've tried the tack approach awhile back, I couldn't get it to work. It was like trying to herd worms. But your work is inspiring, think I'll have to try it on an upcoming Boulton Paul Defiant.

Beautiful job on the camo,just right to my eye. I was compelled to look at it more than once it looked so good.

Google Blue Tack.  I used something similar.  Essentially it is a reusable adhesive clay like substance but with much more elasticity.  You roll it out into long thin 'sausages' and use it to lay down the demarcation line of the camo.  It gives a sharp edge, but not masking tape sharp.  A bit tedious but a great effect.

What are tack sausages?

Always down for trying new techniques... I was ready for decals so I went to do my normal Future coat.  I read recently that thining with water might reduce the pebble - which I do see when thining with isopropal alcohol.  Well, my results were less than desirable.  Not terrible, but damn... making work for myself.  I won't do that again.

Thanks.  I started doing 1/16 scale figures to get the hang of it for smaller (1/35 and 1/48) scale stuff and actually did it for a while.  Got kinda fun learning to work with oils, blending etc.

The first time I tried something like that I used Silly Putty. It worked well enough while I was working on my Fairey Swordfish but I ran into problems I didn't know how to fix toward the end of that build and trashed it.

Your WIP is motivating me to get back to aircraft. My M48A3 project should be done in a couple of weeks (if I can get the figures for the small diorama painted and the base strewn with redish dirt and grass quickly - I like looking at dioramas but I find working on the figures to be tedious).

Excellent job on the camo!  When I was looking at the pics, I was smiling because when the mask is all on, that is one ugly looking bird.  Then the mask comes off, and viola, a beauty.  

Thanks guys.  Plus I'm enjoying the colors.  I've been doing so many bare metal or US navy blue or grey this is really fun.

For Your first try of the camouflage demarcation lines on your first Spitfire, this is most impressive.  fantastic job keavdog!

Nicely done for your first spitfire there keavdog . It take practice to get all that spaghetti to lay and stick to the surface the way you want ..but it looks like you've hit it out the ball park .great job buddy
