Another Hellcat Update...
Posted by fotofrank on Tuesday, March 06, 2018 12:31 PM

This time the F6F-5 Flying Leathernecks Hellcat. I primed it over the weekend with Model Master Enamel Primer. I like the stuff. It lays down very smooth. Today I did some pre-shading with MM Flat Black Enamel. The airplane is hanging by a twisted coat hanger out on the patio while the paint cures.

OK. On the bench:

Almost ready for paint yeah? Looking good...I like the coat hanger idea.

Thanks, lawdog. Route62 is helping out by cutting some stencils for the national insignia to be painted rather than using decals. The airplanes in the movie had minimal marking. Nothing to denote any squadron or unit. In the meantime I am continuing with the weathering on the F6F-3K drone.
