Trying to double check this for an upcoming build: Was the Me/Bf 109 an all aluminum aircraft? Any steel (or other materials, wood, etc.) involved?
Fabric ailerons, elevators, and rudder. Wood used in the late K models for the vertical tail and taller rudder, and also wooden outer wingtips. I’m sure smaller steel components were used, like landing gear parts, canopy frames, maybe even the horizontal struts on the E model.
Nathan? I was afraid you had disappeared. I'm happy you did not.
Hey Greg, no worries, still here
Hello!
I'm pretty sure the engine mount and many engine parts were steel, too.
What do you plan to do?
Good luck with it and have a nice day
