This was a long build with the inclusion of the Begemot decals, easily over 200 stencil data decals on this thing. The decals are beautiful to work with, set great with micro sol, the Mig-31 Begemot decal set has decals for heaps of schemes and is quite cheap (Ebay, Russian vendor), so you can get more than one scheme out of the sheets (2 large sheets, and 1 smaller sheet)
I tried making Tamiya tape painted to do the putty around window frames, was not happy with the look, so removed it making a bit of a mess of the canopy. I may have to give it some more Klear coats on the clear parts, see after a few days drying.
This kit is made to have canopy open, so modifications are needed to do it closed. I found this one was not as easy a build as Trumpeter's 1/72 Su-34 Fullback, but still enjoyable.
Main camo paint is MRP Mig-31 Traffic grey. Other paints used, Tamiya acrylics, Gunze acrylics and lacquer, AK Xtreme metals, Vallejo metal colour, Gunze super clear III, Abteilung smoke oil paint, Mig satin varnish.
The base is from Coastal Kits
