Wow, Nick. That looks stunning. You absolutely crushed it with this kit. I hear everyone say so many good things about this kit. I am gonna have to break down and add this one to the stash. Super nice work.

Greg many thanks I haven't painted anything this bright in a long time, it could bring back more flashly cars soon.
Mike thank you I finally was able to finish up at a cool 89 this a.m. and no rain ....yet.
thanks for watching and your comments.
That last shot.... wow!

Thank you Greg. Almost done small small things to do did a test pic with the tarmac I got from squadron...
Sure is looking good. Agreed on your good work on the yellow, and whilst decals always add to aircraft models, they really POP on this little biplane, don't they?
Thanks Joe. I really like yellow but its very tempermental thats why I dont have any yellow cars lately but finished with the rigging on some washes.
Looks like you're doing a swell job on that yellow Nick. That's a real tough color to get good coverage with.
Thanks John yeah yellow is a bit of a pain the wings have 4 thin coats of tamiya lemon yellow drives my eyes crazy...
well the top wing is in place and started the rigging.
Whoa what a beauty. Finish looks fantastic. Yellow give me fits.
Thanks,
Thank you ToJo appropriate your comments with the shiny paint ,my 59 Chevy is calling me.. it’s been on the back burner for awhile
Wow,looks real good
Thank you Joe, yes its colorfull more then any car I painted. I placed the piano wire the easy part. now comes the top wing. I have too many cups of coffee in me for that lol..
This is turning out to be a very colorful and good looking build Nick. Will be looking in on this one.
Happy fathers day to all you dads past, future and present ..
the decals are on and Im off. Have a great day.
Jrock83 thank you I'm using .015'' music wire in nickel. I did manage 4 coats of lemon yellow on controll and wing surfaces test fit motor and top wing. I did the rigging on the center struts.
Looking good so far, I used a high e guitar string (nickel), for the rigging on mine from a few years ago and it scales pretty well for the stearman.
Don.
What it looks like is a continental r-670 according to google, but the rigging part is approaching fast thinking about using piano wire
John I gave flat what primer then two light coats of lemon yellow so far it’s a semi gloss I’m going to give it one more light coat of yellow to even out the color and will give gloss clear. I been kicking around that thought about flat yellow and I’m getting same results lol
What engine was the wooden prop used with? Was it used on the Lycoming versions?
Don Stauffer in Minnesota
If you want to use Tamiya acrylics I would recommend Flat Yellow with a clear gloss coat.
Thanks for your input Mike I’ll look in to it but my stock in that paint is very limited
Thanks TB the prop is painted ,working form iPad due to power failure by passing t-storms managed to get base coat of tamiya lemon yellow before the rains.
Nick;
Noooo! Don't use that! If you can get closer to Testors Yellow Gloss .It is actually closer. Besides where did you get such a fine looking Wood prop? T.B.
Isn't Lemon Yellow going to be a bit on the light side?
I've got Vallejo's Game Air Magic Blue and Sun Yellow lined up for my build. They look like they have the best tonal matches to my eyes.
