That turned out fantastic Robert.  You nailed the RLM colors.  Thank you for sharing your work.

Thanks Joe. Your kind words are greatly appreciated.  Thank you for sharing your techniques. Hopefully I’ve shown some improvement in my builds by following your excellent examples

Your builds are excellent Robert....and your welcome my friend.

Mopar Madness

OK Robert, that really looks fantastic!

Thanks Chad second time was the charm. I knew all the pitfalls that I made on the first one so the second one went pretty quick

That is really nice. Super nice camo work too. You should be super proud of this one.

Thanks Brandon.  Sad thing is it's almost identical to the first one when viewed from a distance but up close the old one was crap. I guess the devil is in the details

Thanks Gamera!  I did do a little streaking on the gunports of my first attempt and I didn't like how it looked so I decided not to on this one

Looks fantastic to me! Love the camo and the inkblots look perfect!

Other than maybe a little soot around the gun ports I wouldn't change a thing.

I think even G'Kar would love her!

Tamiya 1:48 ME-262 2nd attempt
Posted by Greatmaker on Thursday, June 27, 2019 12:29 PM

I built this plane about a month ago.  In my first attempt I managed to obliterate most of the panels lines on the fuselage.  Needless to say my rescribing effort was pitiful.  The final straw was finding fog on the insides of the canopy.  I used Tamiya thin to glue that down so no way to remove.  The 262 is one of my all time favorite planes so I wanted to do it justice. I ordered a replacement that night and spent the next 2 weeks buiding a P-51 while I waited for the 262 to arrive.  As lawdog said it's a fantastic kit.  Paints are model master acrylic and Alcad.  Tamiya tape and Montex masks for the bars and insiginas. Sad thing is I had fogging on the inside of this one as well eventhough I was extra careful. This time however I used white glue so I could get the canopy off to fix it.
