This may have been seen by some of you already, as I posted it in a couple of groups on facebook, and also on r/modelmakers subreddit on Saturday, the six year anniversary of her passing...
This is a follow up to my revived thread from a few years back, along with the write up I added to my posts...
6 years ago today, we lost another of the greatest generation, my grandmother. She was in the RAF (Royal Air Force) during WWII as a WAAF (Women's Auxiliary Air Force) and would drive pilots to their planes, and even taxi some aircraft when needed. I grew up with stories of life on the RAF airbases, and and her favorite tale to tell was when the Mosquito Squadrons came in. For those that don't know, the DeHavillande Mosquito was a twin engine British fighter-bomber, built primarily our of plywood. I had built many models for her over the years, and when she died, I decided I wanted to build one more for her, one of her favorites from her 'good old days'. It took six years to fix ully form the idea and build it up, but today, I am pleased to present my grandmother's memorial build...
