Getting ready to start this and can't wait as all panel lines, rivets etc look crisply molded and clean. Props to Academy for packaging all the parts in nice bags and keeping wings separate from fuselage etc. This is probably my all time favorite military fighter I just wish it had the checkerboard livery from USMC but I'll make do with 2 USN markings.

this one has been on my "to buy" list for along time just haven't pulled the trigger on it yet.

So it's a good looking kit?

It sure is a good looking kit, seems to be void of any flash that I can see. This is the 1st kit from academy that I've had, I will be giving them more business if this is any indication. I would pull the trigger if I were you, I've done the hasegawa kit in same scale and it can't hold a candle to this. Decals are nice and crisp looking too.

Academy kits are usally a toss up, but lately they have been producing some nice stuff. Their decals were thick and wouldn't stick but I built the last Academy I built was the F-35. Surprisingly nice kit, far more detail that the Hase kit that I bought just after that, and the decals went on just fine. Good luck on your F-8

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.
