Revell 1/32 P-51
Posted by learmech on Friday, February 7, 2020 8:26 PM

My employer asked me to build a model to present to a gentleman that was retiring after 20 years of employment. They told me one of his favorite aircraft was the Mustang. I built Revell's P-51D-5NA Kit No.03944. The only after market was the decals. Also throught the help of our own GMorrison, some custom decals were added to personalize the model for the recipient. The company logo is on the tail. The numbers on the tail represent the month and year that the gentleman started and the month and year he retired. Also I added his name to the side of the canopy and the kill markings are actually the company logo, one for each year he was employed there. Sorry for the lighting in the pictures. I dont have a proper phot booth to take good pictures.

Don't worry about a photo booth.  For work in process photos, I never worry about it.  I prefer natural light and a high f/#, which in most cases requires a long exposure and a tripod.  A cheap 20 buck tripod is fine.  For finished models I prefer sunlight, exposure times are okay without tripod.  Direct sunlight shows off contours and detail better.
