Eduard Mk9 Spitfire - Weekend Edition
Posted by dazzjazz on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 5:19 PM

Hi all,

Here's one of my latest efforts. Always wanted to do this kind of Spitfire as I love the colours. I'd appreciate any advice on how to improve - I'm sure those with more experience will spot a few flaws.

I did have an issue with the port-side 'D' decal - it got really hard to handle really quickly and I didn't want to tear it, so I had to live with it looking a little skewed. Such is life.

Looks nice! I like the not quite flat, maybe eggshell is the word, finish. I assume you painted the invasion stripes, that's a tough job; I hate doing those.

Looks great! I love the color scheme as well -- classic. How did you like the kit?

I like the kit overall. I used to think Eduard was the ducks nuts, but there were some fit issues and if I remember correctly, some poor instructions and fit issues. Might just be my lack of experience. I think I understand and like Tamiya kits better

Very well done. Perhaps next time try a brown or grey panel line wash to make the details pop a bit. Thanks for sharing.
