This one is turning out well so far. Love that aircraft. Can anyone recommend a good picture or history book on them?
Looking good dazzjazz.
The three-volume set FW 190 by J. Richard Smith and Eddie J. Creek is superb. Volume three was published in 2013. Each volume is about 300 pages and is loaded with photos, drawings, color schemes, production data, famous pilot profiles and narratives on the major engagements, strategies and challenges. The set covers the development and production history of each version from the earliest concepts and prototypes through the end of the war. It's expensive, but comprehensive.
Wow!
yes, sounds both fabulous and very expensive! Thanks for that.

Some Progress.
I don't think I will ever use the white fuselage band decal ever again - tricky to get it to stick down, even with lots of decalling solution.
What should I do with this kit in terms of weathering please?
That's awesome! Your base weathering looks great. A couple things I might do from here would be to apply a wash to emphasize a little dirt in the panel lines and I might apply some Vallejo Model Air's Nato Black over the black decal to mimic exhaust stains. I would follow that up with some very light aluminum chipping around the engine cowl. I would tone down the aluminum with a little thinner so that it doesn't make a stark contrast over your black paint. The idea would be to make it very, very subtle. This is one of my favorite A-8 liveries!

At the plate: 1/48 Airfix Bf109 & 1/35 Tamiya Famo
On deck: Who knows!
Outstanding work. Perhaps next time try painting in the fuse stripe then taping it off before the paint scheme. It works great.

Aircraft & Legend, Focke-Wulf, Fw-190 & Ta-152 by Heinz J. Nowarra
I'm more or less finished. I had a lot of trouble with the landing gear. They only snapped into place when I accidentally tried to dry fit them point backwards! Not sure what's going on there.
There's always ONE thing that goes awry with kits eh? Oh well, I'm pretty happy with the result overall.
Anyone else make this kit and have issues with the landing gear?
still trying to figure out what I did wrong.
That's one sweet 190 and I think you did a fine job! Maybe another one in the near future?
That turned out great!
Thanks,
John
Thanks guys. I have both Hasegawa and Eduard Fw190's In my stash so will start the former soon.
Nice looking 190! That's a great scheme and well executed. I have not built the Tamiya kit yet, but I've built a few of the Eduards. Congrats.
That model's worth a Well Done

Strange eh? For a moment there, I thought I was going mad!
