1/48 Hasegawa F-4J - Cunningham And Driscoll mount
Posted by keavdog on Monday, May 18, 2020 11:52 PM

Put this one together for jeaton's Vietnam build.  This is the Cunningham/Driscoll mount when Cunningham got his 3rd, 4th and 5th kill.  Fought me all the way and plenty of mistakes but basically looks like a phantom.

Flory wash always makes a nice pic ;)

Thanks,

John

That is a buitiful F-4 build. While Randal Cunningham did the flying, Bill Driscoll did the shooting and is also officially an ace. Bill Driscoll also taught at the Navy Top Gun School by invitation. It is unfortunate that the "RIOs" and "Wizzos" do not get the credit they deserve.

Great looking Showtime and even has the correct load for that mission. Beer

There's a You Tube piece where Randy describes the mission and the mistakes he made that could have turned out different. That was one heck of a ride.

Rangerj I agree.  It is good that we all known Driscoll was in the plane, he gets credit in that regard.

PJ, ya I went through a bit of pain to get the correct loadout.

Thanks for the kind words!

Thanks,

John

Gorgeous.  One of the few jets I would actually build. I have the Academy kit in the stash for Olds markings someday. Thanks for sharing.
