Thanks for the links to those reviews and great pics Bish, that was pretty quick.

Ye, it didn't take them long to get them out did it. One of the guys at the model club i belong to does reviews for Britmodeller and i think they often get the kits before its announced officially. Mike was quite on the discussions about the new kit, so i am guessing he must have known but just had to keep it to himslef.

There are in box reviews of the Lanc nose on Britmodeller and LSP for those interested.

https://www.largescaleplanes.com/reviews/review.php?rid=2322

https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235076909-avro-lancaster-b-mki-nose-art-kit-01e033-132/

Funny thing is, more people have the Ju 52 on their scalemates wishlist than the Lanc, and the numbers for the 52 are still going up, even though it does not exist.

Hobby Search have the Lanc on pre order with a release date of Sept, so its just those for reviews that are being sent out at the moment.

Can't see the post on HK's FB page.

Actually having this right in front of me, don't be too quick to dismiss or rubbish this release. Once I get some clear bench space for some photography you will see why this kit is something that will sit proudly on or in your display!

I predict a calling for 1:35/54mm/1:32 Flashrimjägers and not one or two at a time.

Perhaps a note dropped in Masterbox's ear?  Or Warrior's (eek, that woudl be spendy).

And some FJ drop cans, too, no doubt.

And a glorious excuse to build soft-skins with WL registrations--Kettenkrad, Opel Blitz, a motorcycle dispach rider, maybe.  (Oh, tell AV Club an LW tanker conversion wil lbe wanted., too.)

Anybody know i LW used the same color combos as the rest of the WM?

Unfortunatly Mac, even as i was posting this on Fri, it was being de-bunked on Britmodeller. And it has now been revealed both on Britmodeller and HK's FB page that it is infact just a Lancaster nose section. Its also on their wedsite as of today, no availability dates yet or photo's of the kit, just CAD images.

It seems that someone jumped the gun and some of us took the bait, me included.

Indeed it is the nose section of the Lancaster in 1/32. A very nice kit for those who don't want the full Lancaster.

I will do an in box review.

I am going to be busy with 3 large aircraft and a nose section to build for Telford This year!

Tante Ju or Iron Annie. A very iconic aircraft. Who would be up for one?

I am keeping my build calendar flexible in mid 2021. I think I know what is going to land on my doorstep to build up for Telford 2021.

Painting a two tone splinter pattern onto that fuselage is going to be fun... never mind painting the insignia too!!!!!

Who ever said that this hobby is not fun?

That's a big Taunte Ju

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Real G

A Lancaster nose?  It was mentioned on the LSP forum.

Or is it an SR-71?  Stick out tongue

The Lanc it is. Mentioned on Brit modeller and HK's FB page.

Dissapointing.

HK Models' 01E033 arrived at my door today and it is NOT the Junkers 52.

It is.... a cracking kit and I think people will love it when the announcement comes!

Greg.... Time to try something big for a change. These are extraodinary kits when you start delving in to them!

I wasn't even aware of HK Models, I appreciate your input and this thread.

I'm not a stranger to larger scales, but it's been a very long time so you are right, it is time.

Having spoken with HK's boss he tells me that this is not in fact theirs. They have a number of juicy projects in the works and the reference number is not a JU 52.

Covid-19 and the troubles in HK have delayed things and I am not exactly forbidden to say what is what, but 2021 could be an interesting year for keeping SWMBO on side!

Mopar Madness

A 177 would be AWESOME!  I'd settle for a BV 138 Seedrache too.

I think there is quite a few larger German subjects adsent from the scale. But it seem the technology is now there to do them, guess it depends if they think there is a market.

Tanker-Builder

Hey Fellas!

 Remember Airfix?They used to have a J.U.87G I believe it was a G in 1/24!

87B, not a bad looking kit, i have it in the stash. And Trumpeter released a few Stuka's in 24th a couple of years back, including a G and an A.

Bish? Looking at 1/32nd kits?

I've been saying the world has gone upside down, but with this post I might actually believe it.

Big Smile

But seriously, that Junkers looks like it might be fun in big-ol 1/32nd, doesn't it?

O, it has been known. I have 4 built so far and a few more in the stash, includeing a couple of larger ones (Ju 88, He 111). I will very much be looking forward to the 52 and ever since i saw them releaseing the big allied aircraft, i have been hoping for some German ones to match.

Don't panic chaps, When this becomes available to me it will appear on here.

If I get hold of a release kit then there will be no problems, but if it is a test shot or something like that, HK's boss has to give me permission to post.

However I think that this release will please a lot of people and will boost diorama options as there is not really much difference between 1/35 and 1/32. Many modllers have been combining those scales in dioramas for a long time!

Thinking about this, the upper surface RLM 70/71 splinter pattern will be fun to do on the corrugated sides as well as painting the insignia etc.

Remember the Lancaster build I put up on here? This should not be as big, but there again...

Iron Anne or Tante Ju. I am sure that there will be some fun to have here!

After producing a selection of larger WW2 Allied subjects in 1/32nd, it looks like HK are now turning to larger German subjects.

https://www.scalemates.com/kits/hk-models-01e033-junkers-ju-52-3m--1295296

About time. Now, hopefully an Fw 200 and He 177 will follow in due course.

Edit: Unfortunatly this has now been shown to be false. As posted on HK's facebook page, it is a Lancaster nose section.

Sorry for getting people's hope up, mine included.
