Gonna steal the XF-58 idea.  If I were to improve upon your finish in my dreams (certainly not on MY workbench!) I would make them a bit flatter on these tired schemes.

 

It's a great color.  I make interior green with it by adding a touch of XF-49 Khaki to brown it up. I keep it pre mixed. 

I think it's actually a pretty cool scheme with the sharkmouth.  It's one of the reasons I chose it.  I prefer my finishes with an ever so slight sheen to them. Aside from looking better to my eye, in my experience they are easier to blow dust off with an air can when necessary.

The nice thing is the kit has all the parts to build any version of the Cobra except the 4gun nose version. I found a chart online that explains which parts to use for each version. (Exhaust, blades, etc)

 

Yeah, truthfully I don't know much about these. I did a quick reference search and tried to make it at least visually accurate, as far as this particular machine was concerned.  next time I think I'll do a Q with the fifties under the wings.

Very nice!  It was a very interesting plane with the mid-engine, car doors and cannon in the spinner.  First with tricycle gear as well.

 

Thanks John. Agreed it was a great design.  Its my understanding it would have been the bee's knees if they would have kept the supercharger on it as originally designed. A shame.  I guess the Russians were fond of them though.

Thanks Johnny.  That a resin barrel that came with the SBS set which included the prop and hub too.  I only used the blades and the barrel as I used the kit hub.  I still have the other barrel options for another build.

Thanks! One of my regular customers builds them and he gave me a few.  They are much better than anything I could do..

Well, I actually concur.  If I lived down under I'd never leave the house due to everything that can kill you.  You blokes have the most poisonous everything, spiders, snakes and even jellyfish!
