Just bought the Tamiya P-47. Any thoughts?

I bought this kit 2 days ago. I knew the background of this specific kit before I bought it. It was an amazing kit, especially from it's time (2003). So, I decided to buy it, since it was really cool, well engineered, but most of all, fat.

Any thoughts, info, or tips for this kit? I NEVER have aby experience with silver paints. The only time I use them is for the wheels, and propeller. Any help with the Silver paints?

Tamiya makes an "airframe silver" spray paint and I have heard it is pretty good.

Excellent kit.  Look into alcladII metallics.

Thanks,

So the first thing about silver aircraft, some of which are natural finish (NMF), some of which are painted silver and some of which are a combination; is that your model finish has to be applied over a model to which you have applied and achieved the very best base finish you are capable of.

Any scratches, putty, misalignments etc. will just be made much more obvious.

If I were to build that Jug, which is an old and so-so fitting kit, it would take me a year or so in silver, maybe a month in olive over gray.

Here's my build of this kit if you would like to get some idea on how it goes together. My opinion it's nothing short of heaven in styrene. It's quite possibly one of the best engineered kids ever made.

I might say I will have fun with building this kit. I will check the website soon. Thanks.
