Arma Hobby's 1/72 Hurricane Mk.I
Posted by modelcrazy on Monday, August 2, 2021 11:29 AM

The real hero of the BoB in MHO. The Hurricane has always been my favorite British fighter. Yes the Spit has beautiful lines no doubt, but there's just something about the Huri that makes me keen on it.
I used the markings which came with the kit for RF R, flown by Sgt. Josef Frantiseka, a Czech born pilot who flew for the Polish.
The aircraft has since had it's first public flight in Aug of 2020 in Duxford according to Historical Aircraft Collection in England

I just finished Arma Hobby's Mk.I Huri on 1/72. I bought the kit, what? some 3 years ago when they came out and just completed it last night. It's a nice kit with tons of cockpit detail, although you cant see 90% of it with the canopy closed. It went together well with some fit issues which were more of my doing than the kit itself. I have another in the stash which I will enjoy even more with leasons learned.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Nice looking build, that came out well. And good to see an Arma hobby kit. They made some nice resin AM sets under the Attack Squadron label and i was dissapointed when they stopped those. But good to see them making some nice kits.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Nice job.  I'm a cane fan as well.  Did one last year and have another in the stash with 303 squadron markings

Thanks,

John

Thanks John. I'm partial to the Polish squadron. My great uncle was from Poland and fought in the war. He was a US citizen and was in Patton's Third but he was Polish all the way.

I will deffinetly be doing one of those, am thinking along the lines of Hawker Siddely which will cover a lot of the smaller companies. Not sure what year i will be doing that one yet, but its deffinetly on the list.

I figured you would want to do a Hawker GB. That's fine, I didn't want to build another Huri that soon anyways. It's been the stash for 3 years; it can defiantly wait another 3 or more.

Siddely, hmmmm  . I worked on an HS.125 back in the early 80's as an aircraft mechanic. Now known as the Hawker 800

Surely with that kind of superb painting and detailing that has to be a 1/24 kit right?! I'm hoping Arma pushes out more Luftwaffe subjects.
