They wanted me to glue the lower part to the back of the Engine.                            And glue the other part to the circles on the Firewall.

Cool stuff. Love the engine. Looking forward to how big this is going to be when it's all assembled.

Progress on the Jug is looking great!  Can't wait to see this model when it's completed.  Have you decided on a color scheme and markings yet?  Clear out plenty of shelf space because I've made a 1/24 Stuka and P-40 and they take up a lot of real estate.  Good luck with the rest of the build.

Very nice work Roy!  Detail work ie outstanding! P-47's are on my short list of loved planes. A very close friend of mine was a pilot of P-47's in WWII. Our club always invited him to our meetings to hear his stories. We never got anything done at those meetings. . I made a 1/48 model of his P-47 and presented it to him on his 95th birthday. I will try to post a link to photos of it.

At one of our meetings, I found a film similar to the one linked to above training P-47 pilots and we showed it to Joe. After the first 3 or 4 items were shown, Joe was one step ahead of the instructor for the rest of the film. One of our club members is a pilot going for his Multi license and a major in the CAP. He said that Joe could fly a P-47 on that day with no problems. He was in good shape with good eyesight. We were all amazed at his memory recall. Sadly Joe passed away a few months after his 96th birthday.  A couple of the markings on the plane were questionable but they came from Joe himself. His license plate was P-47.

With all the details I'm planning to add, what good is it if you cant see it.                       So I cut out a panel on the port side of the main body.

When I get all the details added it will look great to look through the open pannels.        As I type this, I have already opened up the Starboard side. But I have yet to take a picture of it.

Thank You very much! Now I can take off both engine pannels, I'm working on a way to mount and take them off with a magnet. 

Just to let You and everone know I am not posting every picture I have taken. I still have a limited amount of pictures space on my Flicker account. But I should have enough space to finish this kit and extra. 

Anyway, I am also working on a YouTube video, with all my Pictures, and some word's, along the way of my build. 

I am working on removing all links to my shutterfly pictures. Beacuse they wont allow external links. This will be a little like time traviling. But as of March 25th 2023.

Hello. Been a little while, But I finely finished the Port and Starboard back half of the engine details! 

Here's the finished Port side               

There is some finer piping I could have added.

But looking through the panel I removed, you really couldn't see them anyway.

While I was working on adding the detail Tubing and wiring on the starboard side.
It rolled off my workbench and hit the flour, Snaping off the post at the prop base.                         I carefully removed the crankcase cover.

This pretty much where I was when I broke the propeller shaft, I drilled in the support. The shaft and prop are back together.

The starboard side is finished. But like the port side                                                                 there are some finer detail wires I could have added.

But looking through the open panel, you really wouldn't be able see them.

After finishing, All the engine details. Forward and back. I will be mounting the Engine and Cockpit into the fuselage and stick them together. 

Then I need to floor wax my canopy.

Hello. Its been awhile. Here's some more details I have added to the 4th step.

With all the other details I have done, I thought I would open the Coweling flaps. The with the glueed together Starboard and ventral pieces of the coweling.                          The open flaps look better open, than the molded flat part.

I added #103 plastic strips inside a couple cowel pieces,

So when I put together the Flugue. I will be able to remove the coweling to show off the front part of the Engine and remove the pannel to show off the back half.

Thank You! Well I can tell you if I didn't have amazing reference pictures I don't know if I would have even though about doing it.   This is Huge kit, why not try to add any detail's I can, including reworking the Prop.         

The only wild thing I have thought about is maybe make the Main linding gear work.        I won't really know untill I get to the parts.

I finished modifying the base, with the notch for the.100 2.5mm rod. sanded the molded flat sided tire. I was luck enough to remove them before they broke. I'll stick them back on when it's on it's wheel's

As you read this, I have already painted the gun compartment yellow zinc chromate.

Before I dug in the holes under the guns, I looked for any good references. When I found this YouTube video. I had to watch it twice before I noticed the plane is vibriting    8 .50 Cals Firing on the P-47 Thunderbolt - YouTube

Alot like it name sake. The A-10 can only fire its 30 mm GAU-8 Avenger rotary cannon in short burts, because the blast will force the plane backwards.

Hello. This is the first time to use Google Photos for somthing like this.
