A beautiful finish on this one, too, LD! I'm with you about the -B versus the -D. I like the lines of the razorback, I think it looks more like a racer.
And when I think of Major Howard, I remember reading how he had to crank the seat all the way back, to be able to cram himself into the cockpit.

Do you mean the vent on the underside of the fuselage? If you do, it's funny, but on the ICM kit, which I believe is derived from Tamiya's, the same area is a pain to deal with. The fuselage floor piece doesn't fit properly, which creates gaps at the vent area. When I built that one, I actually crawled under a P-51B at a local airshow to get a good look at that area.
