If you use a pin vise & Micro bit to drill matching hole and a small piece of wire as a reinforcing guide, no need for that third hand device in such cases.

Next you will be needing the one with the magnifying glass attachment. It does come in handy.
I've those Thirdhand jimcracks for years, but the serrated clip (alligator clip) always wants to do more damage to the work than the help it is giving me. Has anybody had any luck squishing the serrations out of the clip, using pliers or something?
You could grind them down with a dremel tool or a file.
That's why I use those roach clip hands only when necessary and then sometimes with a cloth covering the teeth.
What about cutting a piece of a rubber material thick enough to keep the teeth away from the surface?
Mine has so much paint on them from airbrushing that there is no damage,
Ditto on grinding them down flat with a dremel. Wouldn't be without it.
