Hasegawa 1/32 FW190D Blue 2 from JG 3
Posted by plasticjunkie on Saturday, August 20, 2022 10:41 PM

This is a comission build using the Hasegawa 1/32 long nose Dora. I added lots of plumbing in the gear plug area to busy things up. The seat belts weredone using masking tape and spare buckles. Markings are for late war machine Blue 2 from JG 3 in 1945. Paints were Model Master enamels and streaks made with artist oil paints. Flory Washes pop the recessed details.

Your client will love it.  I'm starting to build more 1/32 vs. my typical 1/48.  How did the Hasegawa kit go together?

Thanks. This is an older kit but very nice fit and nicely molded IP. It is lacking the riveting details that I added to one I built for myself. Wasn’t done on this one cause of the added cost. You will need to add some plumbing to the main gear plug to busy it up some. An AM Revi gun sight will add more detail but it’s up to the builder. Seat belts are missing in this kit and is a must. AM decals will be a better choice than using the included ones.

Thanks  BK. I enjoy painting the German  late war schemes. I have a couple of late 1/32 109Ks I'm getting ready to dig into.

Hi, Ernie.

That's a lethal looking bugger, one of the baddest looking WWll fighters. A really well turned out model, thanks for the details and photos.

Super cool! Great job.

Over the years I have built mostly armor. A couple years ago, I thought I'd try my hand at aircraft again. Something I hadn't built in may many years. Anyway, I came across your project here and it looks very much like the 1:32 Hasegawa kit I built in early 2021. I made it "Blue 4" from JG26, so there are slight differences, but it looks like its twin. Maybe I will post pics of it as a separate thread. I'll have to relearn how to do that as I haven't posted for ~10 years, I think. Anyway, I think you'd get a kick out of that.

Thanks ld. I had this one in the stash for quite a spell and was planning on doing a more detailed build for myself but this commission came up.

Great looking lange nase 190 PJ. One of my favorite aircrat. I had that kit then sold it as I don't have much room for 1/32 scale stuff... gona have to build another soon in 72nd scale... maybe the IBG kit...

Hi PJ, That's a cracking looking Dora you've made there  - a very nice paint job indeed. I baulked at doing the rivets when I did mine but after wished I had made the effort.

I have another planned at some stage with the Aires detail et so maybe on that.

Great model - your client should be well pleased Yes

Best - Tug

Thanks Tug. I did one for me and rolled all of the missing rivet details which was quite a chore but adds the missing detail. The customer did not want to pay for the extra detail and labor so it's as is. Thanks for taking the time and effort to comment and post.
