1/32 Hasegawa P-47D
Posted by rooster513 on Friday, September 30, 2022 9:05 AM

Hi all. Been a long time since I've posted any work here. Been working along on a few projects including hasegawa's P-47D. This was my first time foiling a model with aluminum foil and pretty happy with how it turned out. Certainly some mistakes in there but ok overall.

I'm to the weathering stage now and wanted to get some feedback if possible. I've been using oils but the have a hard time sticking to the smooth metal surface and you can see the brush strokes in some cases. I'm thinking airbrushing some highly thinned paint might be the way to go. Any thoughts?

I apologize in advance for the poor picture quality and the clutter but wanted to snap a couple pics before leaving for work this morning.

I've never done the foil finish but on NMF (Alclad) I like to use thinned tamiy clear smoke to do a bit of post shading.

Thanks,

John

It's been a while Andy.  I hope you're doing well.  Oh, and beautiful foil work on that Jug.  I hope to see more pics of that.
