I just looked at Revell-Monogram's website and there was no mention of a B-26
either Martin or Douglas. Could it be Revell-Germany?

Looks like its just the old Monogram kit repackaged according to the FSM new kit listing.

Has anyone built the monogram kit? The only B-26 I had was a 1/72 scale kit from MPC many years ago.

Whaz up Jason,,
I know that Revell-Monogram did a 1/48th Martin B-26 "Marauder". This particualr kit(#5510) was a special edition that came w/ a resin interior. Basically you could build it w/ or w/out the resin stuff.
Pro-Modeler also did a Douglas A-26B "Invader" in 1/48th. The only draw back to both of these kits is that they have "raised" panel lines.
The A-26 was a direct descendant of the Douglas A-20 Havoc The Invader began rolling off the production line in 43.
Kind of a interesting note after World War II, when the Martin B-26 "Maruader" was retired, the remaining A-26s were redesignated B-26Bs.
Many saw service in the korean conflict aswell as Vietnam. In Vietnam they were used as Counter-insurgency (COIN)a/c. The B-26s were than converted into B-26ks (Counter-Invaders). While it was used in Vietnam, they redesignated it once again, this time to A-26A. PPHHEEWWWWW...!!!
Sorry about that, I just get a kick out of them redesignating the a/c like thatTongue [:P] They cant quite make up their minds now can they LOL...!!!!!!!
In all I give both these kits Two thumbs up. Did I hear that Tamiya or Hasegawa will be doing one soon LOL...!!!Big Smile [:D]

I built the Pro-Modeler A-26 Invader a few years ago. From what I remember it went together very well.
The only part that gave me a lil trouble was just aft of the cockpit. The halfs were just off a bit. A little filling and sanding did the trick.

I'm building the old Monogram kit as we speak. Revell-Germany is re-releasing it under their label. It has a March release date, so I'd be willing to say it would hit the US in about 6-8 weeks. I'm hoping that "Flak-Bait" comes with the decals. I'm using the old kit, with the old decals.

Patience young grasshopper.

I built the original B-26 Marauder a year or two ago and it was a good kit, except it needed about a half pound of lead in the nose to keep it on its nose gear. I have two more--the Pro Modeler re-release with resin interior and another original, and am looking forward to building them! I thought they were/are excellent kits. Fit was good, not much filling or sanding needed (except on one engine nacelle--but that was my mistake). Nice interior detail--in the areas you can see. But it's all personal preference. Enjoy and happy modeling!

Built both the Marauder and the Invader kit. Both went together well, both needed a good bit of weight in the nose, and both look great on my shelf! :) -Ed

In the Eigthies I took the chance to build in 1:48 from Monogram (Flak Bait), good subjet with good detailed cockpit , bombay ,tires and booms some lack of detail in the interiors back, but the same detail from the B-25 Mitchel or the Invader from the same years, I remember in that times a don't worried about the weight to tell the true.I'm expecting a Reissue from RM.

I built it a few years ago (1985). It required a huge amount of weight to sit on
the gear properly. Tip: Plastic mainmounts are a lot stronger than plastic
nosegears. Put the weight where the weight really is---in the engine nacelles.
Works well for any multiengined tricycle gear A/C.

Anybody remember the AMT 1/48th Marauder ? It was quite an improvement over their earlier 1/48th WW2 airplane turkeys. It even had a detailed bomb bay. I never got one, but a couple of people that did told me that they liked it even more than the Monogram kit.

You know, I think I will go back and add AMT's old Corsair, Tempest, and Meteor to my list that I submitted to the "Worst Kit" forum. Their DH4, Beech Staggerwing, and Stinson Reliant were nice kits, but by the the time they came out, it was too late....

OOPS ! Sorry about drifting away from the subject.
