Albatros Dark Mirage Decals.

Hi Mirage, Try mixing white glue and water(1:4). Silvering is air trapped under your decal. Just put 1 drop where you are going to place your decal and apply as you normally would. The suggested solution will break the surface tension that allows the air pockets and assist in securing the decal. I use foam makeup applicators to position and soak up most of the solution. I use lint free cotton cloth to get the rest. You can still use a setting solution if your decal doesn't lay flat or needs to snug down into a seam.

In this case, I put the airplane into my signature, which you can do by editing your profile.

Even though I gave you the link, I'll give you a demo here.

First off, whatever image you'd like to use, you must have hosted on the net somewhere. I use http://photopile.com/start.htm to host my images.

When replying to a topic, look for this button:



If you click on that, this will appear in the text box:



Only it won't have the spaces between the brackets and the "img" or "/img".

Say this is the image you want to insert.



You must find the URL of the image in order to insert it into the message.

If you host your own images, it should tell you what the URL (or address) for a certain image is.

If you want to find out the URL for any image on the net, right click on it then select "Properties".

A box should pop up, just look for the "Address: (URL)" and copy it.

Then past it in between the but DO NOT include the spaces between the brackets and "img".

The URL for my signature image is:

If you wanted to insert this image into a post, it would look like this (WITHOUT the spaces!)



That's all there is to it!

Thanks for the tip, mate! Sorry it took so long to reply. I like the bi-plane on your message though. How did you do it?

Are you using any decal solvents? They help a great deal with silvering, bubbling and the like.

Some of the more popular stuff: Micro Sol/Set, Aeromaster Sol/Set and the omnipresent Solvaset. There are other decal solvents out ther made by Testors, Polly-S/Scale, Gunze Sangyo (Mr Mark Soft or sumthin') and others.

The two-part solvents are designed to be used together as a system. One goes down on the model before you actually apply the decals and the other goes on top of the decals.

Then there's good 'ole Solvaset. This stuff ROCKS! Very strong and it'll solve most of your decaling woes. Although sometimes it can be TOO strong, depending on the type of decals you're using.
