Ju 88 from series A to seriesC3 have RLM 02 interior color. Instrument panels were RLM 66 and instruments black.

The wheel bays were also painted RLM 02.

The landings gears RLM 02, The polished steel oleo area in steel/silver. Dampers very dark gray. Wheel hubs semi gloss black,with exception of tail weel hub which was either unpainted (gray metal) or RLM 65. The overall camouflage was RLM 70/71/65

I see many models with the wrong colors. RLM 66 was introduced as interior color in late Nowember 1941.

The JU 88 A series were used in the battle of Britain in the summer of 1940.

I hope this information is of interest.

Regards

Per S

Which markings have your kit?... it all depends on them... may be RLM 65/70/71, or if it is a maritime plane, it could be 65/72/73... or if it have a desert scheme: RLM 78/79/80... for interior surfaces, RLM 66 in the cockpit and RLM 02 on landing gear and other interior surfaces...

Hi razordws,

Thanks, I think that's going to help, only, I'll have to look for the enamel paints, because I can't find easily the acryls...

Thanks

Sign - Welcome [#welcome] to the forum.

I am not familiar with Revell's paint system but the Ju 88 A-4 usually had a RLM 70/71 over a RLM 65 color scheme. The RLM is the Luftwaffe's official color designation. I usually use model master acrylic paints and they have colors for the above scheme as follows.

RLM 70 schwarzgrun is #4780
RLM 71 dunkelgrun is #4781
RLM 65 hellblau is #4778

For the interior you should use RLM 66 (schwarzgrau) which is model master #4779 and RLM 02 (grau) for the landing gear and landing gear bays which is model master #4770.

If you prefer enamels they have similar colors available but I do not know the product numbers.

I don't know off hand what the pilot colors should be.

hope this helps

Hi guys,

I would like to ask a question.
I bought a 1/72 Revell Ju-88 A4, but you know Revell, always with their mixing...
I would like to ask you guys wich paints I should use.
Revell instuction says:

UPPER COLOURS:

* 75% greenish gray (67) + 25% yellow (15)
* 90% granite gray (69) + 10% white (5)

UNDERSIDE COLOUR:

* 60% light green (55) + 10% grey (57) + 30% white (5)

Well, I would like to hear your opinion...
But if you give some paints, be sure it are Revell, Humbrol, Tamiya or Model Master paints, because those are the only I can find...

Thanks and GreetzSmile [:)]

PS: Oh, yeah, how do I have to paint (wich colour) the pilots and the cocpit)?
