There's a couple of ways to go.

One way is; Future, decal, future (then dull coat if you want a flat finish)

Another is; Future, decal solvent (micro sol), decal, decal setting solution (micro set), future (then dull if you want a flat finish).

The micro sol makes the decal much more flexible and really helps them to conform to diferent shapes.  The micro set pulls the decal down into the different shapes and makes the decal look painted on.

Thanks to both I guess a trip to the store is required to get this color.

Gosh darn it Lucky I asked before I started to paint all the stuff in Flat black.

Couple of extra questions.

Applying decals do you use Future then dull coat then a semi gloss Finish or a respray of Future and leave alone no Dull coat?

First Plane in 30 plus years and that one was a Brush painted F4U Corsair.Whistling [:-^]

For USAAF CPs, I like Interior Green (Tamiya XF-04) - BUT, it's not always correct.  Some factories used one color, some used another.

Your best bet is too pick up some reference material and just look at the pictures.  For instance, my HellCat uses interior green, but my Jug uses regular Tamiya green.  From the pictures I studied, regular green was the absolute best match I could find - and it looks dead on.

For the resin cockpit, the only one for the academy I could find from squadron is this one  http://www.squadron.com/ItemDetails.asp?item=LF4020.

Zinc Chromate? I don't think so. Not for the cockpit anyway. I think the base color for your cockpit should be Interior Green.
