Blush [:I]don't mention it my friend, Glad the pics helped out. I have pics of the cockpit, and pics of pilots suited up but no pics show a downward view inside the cockpit with a pilot. I wasn't sure these would be useful. I look foward to seeing you pilot and his mount.

Phoenix, I wish I could tell you how many hours I have spent looking around on the Internet trying to pictures EXACTLY like the ones you just provided! It's funny, when I posted this querry I thought to myself "I hope Phoenix sees this, he'll have some photos"!  Thanks so much, the info about the cord (I know where on the console it attaches so that part is good to go) and the accompanying photos are a gold mine.  I owe you one my friend! Thumbs Up [tup]

daywalker I don't have any pics looking over the pilot into the cockpit of a fw190. The cockpit of this fighter was pretty cramped and I perosnally don't know of any showing what you want. Another problem is depending on the time and place during the war would have also factored in on what the pilot was wearing and equipted with. Deesrt pilots wouldn't wear a life jacket, while at the same time eastern front pilots in the winter would have had extra jacket and long heavy socks that could sometimes be seen above there boots. Also pilots has things they pick up and/or had specially made for them. The luftwaffe didn't care what you wore as long as you shot down the emeny.

What I did is gathered some pics I have of  "typical" pilots Some are in 109's but the equiptment is the same on the pilot. The radio line came out of the back of the flying cap and plugged into a connector on the left side of the insterment panel right near the pilots arm on the fw190A through D and ta152. this normally was along the pilots side of tucked behind the seat some what. I think the pics give you a good idea of how the restraint belts were worn and looked. Again pilots would wear them to their perferance. This is not an area I'm highly knowledgable but may be able to help you out in.

early war pilot still unstrapped after landing, bf109E. I wonder if that hole is a payroll deduction??

Early/mid war bf109F desert

early/mid war fw190 pilotgetting hooked up

mid/late war fw190 pilot getting buckeled in. probably best pic I have of this.

late war ta152 pilot getting in. clear pic of pilot garb.

some pics I found in a book of pilots

more of the same.

I am building a FW-190 that I am adding a pilot to, and was wondering if anyone has any photos of a WWII era pilot at the controls.  I am looking to see how the seatbelts hang while someone is strapped in, where the microphone connects to the panel/lays on the pilot's body, and the headphones.  Basically, I want him to be hooked up to the plane and looking as he would getting ready to take off.  Thanks for looking! Thumbs Up [tup]
