Rosie the Riveter -Rivet making tool?

I've looked at the Rosie the Riveter tools, but I think that the best solutions is Rato's. His comparisons are very nice as well.

very interesting tool, never seen one before, any suggestion on which is the appropriate for a 1/48 scale and which one would be for 1/32 or it depends on the plane? any help is as always very appreciated-

I'll tell you, it's great tools for detailing, so easy to use and work faster with amazing result. here is my p-51 still in progress.

I have one of the RTR tools on my bench as well. It's the 10mm wheel with dimples spaced out at .70mm apart, looks a little large for 1/48 but just about right for 1/32. Very cool tool, takes a little practice to get proficent with it. Thumbs Up [tup]

I just got my riveters .

So, I have three sets:

Mine (using a clock gear) makes 15 rivets per 1 cm (38 rivets per inch) - equivalent to 1.25 inch rivets spacing for real 1:1 scale)

than the next one (medium wheel) makes 5 rietsper 1 cm (12.7 per inch)

smallest makes 9 rivets per 1 cm (22.8 per inch)

For regular rivets none of the exacto riveters will fit (at least for 1/48 scale). I think the clock gear is unbeatable Smile [:)]

Wojtek Fajga uses the same "gear" (a common russian clock Smile [:)] ) and here is some hint ...

Wojtek uses the 3M masking tape from automotive applications (Autozone , NAPA etc) This tape is flexible and just a right width to do 1/48 details.

I didn't even know that Rosie had a competing product. Looking at the tutorial, I may have to buy more tools, like a micrometer and dividers.

I'm excited by this product, but I have imagine that mistake with it could be a disaster.

I just ordered one today too. Rosie that is, not a pounce wheels. I have seen some spectacular thing done with the RTR One of the biggest advantages is that the RTR has rounded point so it make a round rivet. Pounce wheels leave a slightly oblong dimple.

I just received these two pounce tools from Widget Supply. I have been re-riveting a 1/48 RM A-10, they work like magic! And for less than $10+shipping....
