Nice work on the wiring there. Good luck with your finger, you get more modeling done with nine fingers than I do with ten!

Finger actually ok, waiting just for new skin (problems in the nail zones ) to cure better so i can use the needed CA glue to finish the engine and close the Rufe :)

Last night finished the engine!

removed previous rear wires and restarted them from the top front of the engine 

Great work there on the engine, I did a few in 1/48th- must be tiny in 1/72nd.

Hadn't noticed how fast this year is coming to a close...

Alrighty then, I am gonna kick off my Pt.IV (shi?) build, and crossover with the 48 hr/ Weekend Madness GB... nothing fancy, just the Testors rebox of the classic Hawk Yokosuka MXY7 Okha. Although I am going to upgrade the cockpit, as it is quite minmal.

let me just say, that trying to get these photos uploaded has taken me a good 30 minutes due to the usual POS quality of Photbucket... I do HATE their site since they revamped it a couple summers back...

anyways, I am replacing the kit seat, that you see in the middle here and ditching the pilot... I think you can see why. I pulled the seat on the left out of my spares bin (from a Tamiya Ki-84) and modified it to a typical Japanese aircraft seat. I have only found a couple period photos of the Ohka's cockpit, and none show the seat clearly. All the musueam stuff today shows a variety of seats so, I guess I am using hisotrical license here...

sub assemblies built so far- wings, tailplane, rocket engines... I'll do seam clean up tomorrow

a backing for the instrument panel. Tomorrow I will do the real work on that.

stand, since the kit does not come with the ground handling dolly that these things are photograhed upon in period photos

and a couple shots of the fuselage so far. some beginning of interior framework, and the fuselage rear bulkheads in place drying to proper postion. The fuselage halves are not yet glued together, only head to gether for the bulkhead placement and those are glued only to one side.

I have also dipped the canopy in Future and that is drying now...

PS: Yeah, you're not the only one, PhotoBucket used to be great, but the new format (no I don't want to tell a story with my photos) and all the video clip ads have made it more and more annoying. I know more than a few who have given up on the site and moved on to greener pastures.

Well here are a few update photos. I have mostly been doing scratch work. I finally found a good photo of an original Ohka seat and saw that it had rounded upper corners so a bit of filing and it was better. Of course the lightening hole pattern does no match, but hey, at least it looks close. I also created the rudder bar, a contol stick and someof the linkage. As well as starting work on the IP. Lots of filing and hollowing out are in store ahead.

I also installed some rear cockpit decking and more interior work

and of course seam clean up and hollowing out the rocket motor nozzle walls... those things must have been a good 2mm thick originally... now much better

more to come later on...

Thank you Gamera. I have most of the interior paiting done now a bit over 24 hours in and am almost ready to close up the fuselage halves. I need to let my current work dry, apply some instrument decals and then I can close it all up and call the interior done. More photos coming soon...

0035 hrs here, I am gonna post these photos and call it a night...

I did a long airbrush session this evening after dinner and painted all the interior components

when test fitted, now everything looks uniform in color...

decals applied for the instruments and the fuselage halves glued together, plus paint scraped away from teh seat mounts and the area where the stick & rudder bar assembly will go

I'm gonna let it dry overnite, sand the seams in the morning, attach the wings, tailplane and canopy, then get the base paint on....

 Stinking computers and chips and trying to upload photos is not working. And I do not have the time to figure it out today. I'll see if I can get my updates loaded soe other time...

Yeah, I chose the wrong weekend to do this... But then again every weekend at this time of year is bad... 

Here is where I had reached before I left for AMPS this afternoon. I scrounged up some new decals to replace the kit ID numbers that shattered... that just put the topping on my afternoon with this kit...

and teh replaced front sight post and the improvised attachment lug scrounged from my spares bin.

Tomorrow morning I will finish this up...
