The official Junior GB of 2009!
Posted by Boba Fett on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 9:03 PM

Welcome to the 2009 Junior GB! Sign - Welcome [#welcome]

Currently, I am hammering out some rules to go by, but here's what I have so far:

1. Dates will be: May 20th to October 1st, so we will have all summer to build! (Note: All members MUST sign up by June 6th! At D-Day, we must know how many kits we will need.)

2. All entrants must be under 18, however if your 18th birthday is in the middle of the build, or was shortly before the build began, don't sweat it.

3. One build per person to start (Which is the one being entered into the mini-contest), and if they have time, they can do a second/third whatever.

4. There will be a mini-contest at the end, popular vote for best model. If so, there will be an extra prize at the end for him donated by Jim! Make a Toast [#toast]

5. We are considering giving a kit to those who finish their first build on time. So far, Soulcrusher has offered to donate some WWII aircraft. A toast to him! Make a Toast [#toast]

6. Badges, should it be like last year's, or will a new design be in order? Temporary ones I'll have until you finish the build.

This is really gonna be fun! Please, sign up on the thread or PM me if you have questions!

I'm here Big Smile [:D]   I was here last year too, and my badge is still visible.. I just got done with 2 others (including one I hosted) but haven't had time to get them in my signature...

This will also be my last.. Bleh!  I'm turning 18 next year.. I hate that..  Tongue [:P] I can atleast take the carlicense then..  18 year limit in Norway Wink [;)]

One thing Boba Fett, last year it was planned that other members gave a free kit to those who finished.. But this never got around..  You may want to go on the different forums and ask for volunteer givers?

Ahhh...! The Churchill Crocodille.. Built that a long, long, long time ago! Goes togheter well (as I remember).. It was back in the days when I just used a kitchenknife, glue and had just started "painting" (If that is what you can call it Laugh [(-D] )

What I'll build, I have to find out.. Give me some time...

And glad to have you here, Jim!

One idea for the roster..   Set everyone's age aswell there? Would be rather nice to instantly see the members' age?

And Boba, ask around for that free gift idea.. Wink [;)]  From what I understand,  there were many interested last year, but it just never happened....

Why not? It's technically under 18, but since your birthdate was so close to the date... You're in, New 1!!!

Jim, thanks. PM returned

Stick: gotcha

EDIT I want to start this mid May, say the 20th.

Boba you mabye should start threads in the other forums like armour and aircraft so that we can see if we've missed any other people who might be able to join.

The 20th sounds good to me for a start date.

Hi guys!, Boba I sent you another PM.

And stick man, I'm glad you asked! I am building a late war Eastern Front diorama, with a scratch built, partially-destroyed building section, and three moderately converted Dragon figures.

Thanks, Jim

Graham I am way to old to join your GB at 43 but I love to see so many youngsters building models. I would be willing to donate a couple of kits as a reward to any GB members that has finished his build in the time aloted and has put a good effort into it. I have several kits in my stash that I will probally never get to and would be more than happy to see them build. The only catch is I only build WWII prop planes so thats is all I have to donate. When the time comes if you agree that someone is worthy of a reward send me their address and I would be willing to send them a kit. Just make sure they would be interested in a WWII prop plane as that is all I have to share. I would not want to send someone something that they are not interested in building. Let me know what you think. I will be looking in on your GB as I am interested to see how good you young guns areBig Smile [:D].
