WOWSERS Konig, she's a beauty!!!!! Always loved the Stringbag!!!! WELL DONE!!!
hughes2682 Konigwolf, I like what you've done with the string bag. For a 1/32 kit it looks like it folds up into a tidy package. Relatively speaking that is. Cheers Dave

With enough thrust, pigs fly just fine.
Well final showing for this behemoth, Overall I'm happy with the way it turned out. Weathering? dont know. While I weathered the cockpit well I dont know what I what if any I'll do on the outside as most of pics of seen show almost no external weathering and this kit is big enough that she already has enough shadows etc giving depth.
Some of the pics are a bit grainy, I dont think i had my camera on optimal setting and couldnt find the mount connection for my tripod, but overall I think you get the picture (pun intended)
NIce job, it came out great.
I'll wait for your outdoor photos to add it to the front page.
Woot! Complete!
Just a quick post for now, I'll take some more pics tomorrow morning under better lighting.
There were a few fit issues but I enjoyed it overall, a real pleasure to build but a royal pain the but in regards to quality info, while there is plenty out there most of what I found was all over the place, and almost all B&W or wrong angle, but I'm well armed of I go again on a string bag.
Andrew
Well almost done, some a couple of small parts, some 2nd coats on things (look at those wing folds) then decals and the torpedo and done. Should have it done on time.
Aaron apperently the sky I needed is a greyer version, that the RN use before switching to this slightly greener version (and from the colour shots I've seen I'd agree).
Anyhow heres my latest update. Not alot to show but ALOT of work, wings are 95% done. If this kit has a downfall its the bracing wires, most are to long and some use the same slots at others that you have already super glued shut with a previous one. Right royal pain in that butt. While I have no real issues with their plastic mouldings after this build and their ASLAV kit, I'd say they have a LONG way till they reach eduards standards with photo etch.
I'd say you did well, the Sky you mixed looks like the Pollyscale Sky S I used on my Lysander.
I hope to have mine done by then Aaron.
I'm off to start painting the struts etc. Have had a bugger of a time getting the accurate colour scheme for them. Still not sure about the colour I've used on the lower 1/2. Other than an interstate or international order (sky grey is far from a common colour now) its the best I can come up with (referenced from tamiya's swordfish ) which isn't quite accurate for this plane and I'm not sure how to mix said colour. Happy to let it go as such, think about getting a float or mk 2 from tamiya and getting all rivet county about it (and doing it wings out, I'm almost regretting building this wings tucked)
Glad to see you two are still at it. Technically the GB ends next week, but feel free to take a few more weeks if you need it, I don't think the GB cops will come after you.
Psycho good that your up and running again. After this build I can say at least for basic large area airbrushing I'm no rookie. The only thing I've done since last up date to this bird is airbrush airbrush airbrush, the grey took three coats before I could get it solid. Oh well one pic only but speaks alot. Time to assemble the wings fully soon :)
Well its 90% repainted, The spots could be a lot better, but Im stll an airbrush rookie so there are visibly imperfections. Only that needs to still be painted is the propeller, spinner and under the flaps. As much as Id like to I dont think i'll be done with it in a week but I will try to finish soon.
Pics tonight or tmw or next few days, I never know when I have time to do these things...
Psycho,
It is good to hear you are not out of the game. Sounds like you need to have your area purged, cleansed, purified. A young priest and an old priest? A Shaman? A Shaolin monk?
I'm looking forward to seeing more of this 109 v2.0
Finnaly good news! I got a compressor and the past few nights i've been repaiting the 109. I'm not repainting it after this! howevery it turns out it turns out, no more repainting! I have off all of this week so painting will be done by the end of the week, decals I can do a few hours after work if needed, otherwise its something to do this weekend.
Psycho, you are just not having any luck with the 109s, sorry to hear about the compressor. You have made a good faith effort twice, so as far as I am concerned consider yourself finished as far as the badge goes. I hope you are able to get a new compressor soon, I'd still like to see the completed 109 whenever it is done, it was coming along quite nicely.
Andrew glad to see the Swordfish is back on the bench, it looks like you've made some good progress.
Well the pace has been slow but steady since I've been away, some nice stuff and those tiny WWI planes a so sweet
Anways have finally had some more bench time with my beast. All wing issues are patched and sanded and even got the engine done today. I forsee LOTS of painting in the near future and not alot more assembly really, though the wings may be fun, my firstgo at bracing lucky its PE (even if its over scale)
Its confermed, the compressor is dead. I turned it on tonight and I seen a spark and it wont work anymore. It was an $80 2 gal from walmart. I'm going to get one from hobbytown or hobbylobby next time, much more quiet!
i might not be able to finish the model for this gb, I turned on my compressor last night to repaint the 109 (silly putty was smushed in some places becuase i wasent carefull enough so it masked the wrong color in some places), and I smelled something burning. I'm not sure if its safe to use and I cant afford another one at this time.
WOW Aaron, she's a lil charmer to be sure!!!! beautiful work mate!!!
Psycho, the ME109 is looking great, you must be getting close to finishing up soon.
I've almost got the DR1 done, and my order of guitar strings arrived so I can get the rigging done on all my builds soon.
WW2 she is looking GOOOOD!!! What a nice paint job!!! Not far from the finish line now!!!
Heres updates
I started applying the blue today, I'm going to put another coat on tomorrow, then touch up work with the brown. pics in the next few days.
Nice to see the 109 coming a long again.
simpilot34 WW2 she's looking great!!!! Looking forward to seeing more pics for sure!!! Sorry, I have to laugh at their representation of the engine looks like a couple LEGOS!

Thanks, I'm hoping to get the bown and blue on this weekend. Paintball might interfere with that though. And yes they engine could use some work.
This pic is of the plane painted in the greenish color the interior is and the color the spots will be. I used the interior color as a primer since i painted the canopy that color so when done it will look like the frames are the same color as the interior.
Now in this pic I'm trying to mask the green spots with silly putty to make them cleaner than doing it by free hand and they will be smaller and a greater amount of them.
Alright simpilot, I will post now..
Heres what I am up to before last night
