Downrange Modeling...
Posted by rudedog72 on Monday, September 13, 2010 11:25 AM

Hello all.  I was cruising through some old pictures that I had from the short time I was part of the Balad Model Club on Joint Base Balad in Iraq.  I thought that it would be fun for the guys that are downrange (deployed to combat zones) to have a spot to post their works.  So here are the criteria I thought up for this.

#1: The model has to have been built while deployed.

There, thats it.    Now lets see what you got!

To start it off my contribution is the bi-plane that I built.  It has been too long for me to remember the exact model and such.  But it was an older kit that someone had kindly donated to the troops downrange.

The whole thing was hand painted and the base it sits on is the lid of an old cigar box.  The runway was done with some thin cardboard cut from a folder and the grass was kindly  sent to me by my wife.
