Well I know that the build isn't watched much anymore but I would like to continue until this bird is done.  I have completed a lot since the last post but for now here is where I was.  More photos and updates to follow soon.

Currently building the propellers; the canopy is attached now and I'm taping it up for painting.  :)

By the way, the two last characters are Russian cartoon characters.  The one with the hat is known as Niznika, or interpreted as "don't know".

Thanks Trey, It's moving along ok.   Just taking time.  I still need to improve area around the gun mount.  I'll also be clarifying some of the hatches and panel lines.  Still a beast of a kit.  Still debating on either painting with or without the canopy attached.  Working on propellers after this part.

Ok guys, time to get a move on...  I have made further strides to finish this plane. Since the last post, I've finished with the interior and am now working on the rear gunner's position and upper canopy glass.  I've also started painting the outside somewhat.

I'm doing a bit more right now, but to get everything caught up.  I had to choose a few items to keep this Pe3 correct as much as possible.  I remade the landing gear using paper clips and added the rudders.  I also am still working on closing the gaps and sanding the extra bumps.

Look at those gaps, yuck, that is some job. I know you'll end up with a good result.

Casper - regarding the Hellcat, I love her, er, I mean it. Good job, I'm looking forward to mine now. It does look to be a very nicely detailed model.

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Ok, more pictures as promised.  Couldn't have done it without a little help from my friends.  :)

the gaps that this model has are terrible.  Nothing a bit of filler and filing couldn't cure.

Great Job Trey!  I like the way it came out.

Really nice looking Hell Cat Casper.  I may not be writing much lately but I'm following along.

It has been extremely busy for me of late.  I will have some pictures to post here shortly...   I hope.  :)

Got the engine finished and attached along with the exhaust pipes;

...and with the engine cowling in place;

It's gonna be over 100F here today so I'll leave the gloss coat until tomorrow...Tongue Tied

Got the main painting done.

Interior colour;

Coat of Tamiya grey primer;

I mixed the Tamiya Royal Navy XF-17 with XF-8 blue to get a lighter shade for the body. I think it turned out just the right shade. Will certainly be further helped by a gloss coat. Also one of the simplest paint jobs I've done in a while. Whole plane same colour including the landing gear and wheel wells.

Cheers

Some work on the Hellcat's cockpit. These Eduard profi packs are very nice. Lots of great detail and almost the Tammy shake-n-bake ease of build. My only compliant is they do not supply enough guiding pins on the two halves of the fuselage, wings, etc. Apart from that, all good. Yes

Cockpit and IP, nice details on the coloured PE

View of the seat, the harnesses in this set are actually pretty good.

Cheers

Hey there, I've got another entry if that;s OK. I should be able to squeeze this one in by January cut off! Wink

Just picked this up from my LHS, very nice little kit and expensive! Lots of PE and even resin, usual excellent Eduard quality at this scale.

I'm going to be doing the variant on the box art.

Cheers
