Very nice paintings, each depicted a historical action fought in the air. The artist liked to include the ground scene as well which may not be completely accurate as most air actions happened at higher elevations.
My favorite is the 'Battle of the Bulge' scene showing the initial advance in strength while the Dora 190's flew over. Once again a lot of artistic merit as the weather was low level fog / snow keeping the allied fighter bombers out of the equation for a week.
The 'Dam busters' would be the closest to the actual action other than the full moon. The barrel shaped dam demolition bombs had to be 'skipped' to the edge of the dam which required low level release.
