Hi and welcome to the Panzerjager GB. As you can see, it's running from the start of March to the end of June.
Below is a list of ideas for the GB:

Eric
I will be entering the Panzerjager I by Dragon.
I hope to be starting around the begining of March.
Rob
I was getting a little nervous there. Glad to have you Rob and I love the subject.
Don't be nervous Eric! I'm in with the1:35 Dragon Hetzer Early Version! March 1 is soo far away.......

Last Aircraft Builds - Hobby Boss 1/72 F4F Wildcat & FW-190A8
Ohhh! I happen to have an Italeri Elephant with AM tracks in my stash. With the momentum from my Tiger I build I am in the mood to keep going with another panzer. This GB will keep me motivated to do it, so I'm in.

Glad to have you Ernest and Denis.
What kind of AM tracks for the Elefant?
Ernest, it's only 3 weeks out my friend. Not too far off.
Dragon Marder IIIH Smart Kit #6420. Should be a hoot, especially with a house move in the middle of the GB. I'm in charge of my stash, and my new place nets me my own home office/hobby room. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 315 sq ft. Yay me.

With a 1/72 DML Ferdinand.
Smitty and Marc, glad to have you aboard.
I'm in Eric.
I'm deciding between a Tamiya Marder III, a Tamiya Marder III M & a Dragon Stug III G early (the Greog Bose Cyber Hobby kit), all 1/35. Of course, I may just use this opportunity to add to the stash..... I'll let you know soon.
Bob
Thanks Bob, sorry the other GB idea didn't make it. Maybe next time.
tigerman Thanks Bob, sorry the other GB idea didn't make it. Maybe next time.
It's all good....this is a great theme....a lot of variety of subjects, great lineup of members so far...gonna be fun. I just need to pick a build and get started....on March 1st, of course.......
tigerman Glad to have you Ernest and Denis. What kind of AM tracks for the Elefant? Ernest, it's only 3 weeks out my friend. Not too far off.
AM tracks for the Elephant are from Hobby Boss. Going to be a lot of cliping and sanding but they look like they will go together well. Regardless, a vast improvement over the 2-piece vinyl kit tracks.
I imaging the Italeri tracks are those really stiff vinyl ones. I used them on my Marder H, and actually they worked out okay. Even glued down.
I think AFV Club makes some. I should have gotten those instead of using my horrible Dragon ones that sent me to the padded-room for a week. Thank goodness I found someone that was selling his DS tracks and they worked great. Not as detailed as the indies, but a whole lot easier to assemble.
Sort of on topic for the GB...
I was looking at some of the Dragon and MiniArt figure sets for German SPG loaders. Would any of them work with the Marder? I know that the crew compartment is smaller than say a Nashorn, but they would still be viable, right?
This was the one kit I was looking at today at the LHS while getting some more paint and other stuff, Dragon's 6530 German SPG Crew:
Hi Matt. I think they would work, but then I'm no expert. I have the MinArt ones, but don't plan on using them. The description is pretty generic, so it would seem to work for all.
It looks like the Dragon guys are wearing the reversable winter unis, so keep that in mind for your build.
Eric,
Yeah, they are using the winter reversible smocks, so I could always trade in the mud & dirt for mud & snow if I planned on using them. Since my figure painting skills blow cha-chas anyways, I may just opt for the Marder sans peeps...
Yeah mine do as well.
I'll give a little update of my kit and such in a few days.
Tigerman,
I believe i will join this as i should be done with my other kits by then.
I am gonna choose this:
Dragon 1/35 Sd. Kfz. 184 Elefant w/Zimmerit just need to find it either through a store or online. If I have no luck with that I will let you know what else i have chosen as a backup.
Thanks!
On the bench:
1/35th Tamiya Willi's MB
Glad to have you Tiger. I don't believe that I've seen any buildups of the new Elefant with zimmerit. Sweet. One of my favorite German AFV's.
Eric change my entry please. I scored a Cyber Hobby kit# 6229, Stug III Ausf G w/deep wading wuffler...for 20 rocks
I'd like to enter with a Tamiya Marder III. This helps me fill out my collection of Marders
Nate
Marc, sweet deal on the StuG. I'm still trying to land a Dragon StuG G on ebay. I've got a good chance this weekend.
Nate, glad to have you aboard. I love Marders.
Gents, we have a nice diverse array of kits so far.
Yes we are a small tight knit unit that will kick the crap out of anyone or anything in our way.
Time for a gratutious bump.
For my subject, I will be building the Jagdtiger with the Henschel suspension. It was more numerous then the Porsche, which accounted for only about a dozen of the 70 odd Jagdtigers built. From my research, it appears I can get away with not doing any zimmerit, which of course saves $$$ and mind. All of the Porsche Jagdtigers had zimmerit.
Dragon's Premium kit comes with Magic Tracks, an aluminum barrel, PE screens and metal tow-hooks. I have read that the Dragon Porsche Jagdtiger has overly complicated tracks, but does have less wheels. The Jagdtiger was basically an extended King Tiger with an extra set of road wheels on both sides, so there will be a lot of them. Fortunately, no rubber-tires.
I'll shoot a few pics of the kit later.
Looking forward to seeing pics. Actually, looking forward to starting my Marder III.
Ya know Eric... I have a Verlinden resin interior for the Dragon Jagdtiger...
Marc, I applaud and respect modelers that like to detail their interior and scratch their own stuff. Just not my bag. Thank you just the same.
Nate, you wash your srues, but that is all sir.
I feel a sick day coming on for the 1st.
Yes Sir!
