Carl- Loved the improved picture!!!  It was fun following your build.  I want to use same camo on my Pz III or even Pz IV one day... any idea what kind of GB you want to do in 2014?  Big Smile

Hasen- Thanks buddy!  No worries because I am very positive that we will have another chance in 2014.  Maybe Pz IV or someJust keep your eyes out and I'd love to have you aboard.

Hey Andy - This was a great GB. I am a little disappointed that I didn't find it in time to join in, but hey, there's always next time. As you know, I've had to get my feet wet in the Steel Cats GB instead. Love the work here fellas. Pz IIIs/StuGs are some of my favorites.

Thanks a lot for hosting this one, Andy. Definitely was a lot of fun, and once late December rolls around I'll be joining you at Steel Cats.

Gosh, it has been two months since last post.  Looks like it is good timing to close this GB officially.  For you who started your build but couldn't finish you can always move your work to Armor forum.

We managed to build 22 Panzers and StuGs... think its a great result!

Again, I really appreciate your participation and support... this has to be one of my favorite GBs ever.  You guys made me chuckle or spit beer out.

I am going to post all pictures in the Armor section.  Hope to build with you again.  You still can find me at Steel Cats GB.  Thanks again! Beer Beer

Hasen -- I've been using precisely the same settup for the last 17 years or so. Ah, silent spraying!

Hasen- Gosh!  Thank you so much for your feedback!  Yes I can't believe I forgot to paint red on the rear reflector.  And excellent suggestion about doing something about the drivers vision.  I will just paint it black.  Appreciate your help and critics don't bother me because they do help me!  Owe you two Beer for catching two of my mistakes.

You will like those Iwata compressors.  My wife loves it now because it doesn't scare her anymore when she is in the basement with me.  Old compressor was a pancake type... way so loud that I can even hear despite my deafness and it loves to move around.  LOL

Nice set up with your tank!  Thank you again!

Hey Andy, it looks truly awesome. Great pics too. What camera did you use (Canon xxD)? I suppose the only obvious thing that I can see that maybe you should do is paint the reflectors on the right rear fender and maybe something with the driver vision block. But I don't even feel comfortable giving any critique since I haven't even posted a finished build yet, and I don't know if I could build to this quality anyway. (Your StuG III F8 looks great too BTW - love the disruptive white.)

I've heard that those Iwata air compressors are nice. They look compact and portable too. I've got a little different setup. I've had this for over 20 years on the 1st fill. (Of course 15 of those it wasn't used.)

Looking forward to seeing your start on the Tiger.

Mike- Hey!  No worries... I will not end this GB until yours is complete.  I know one or two other guys are working on theirs too.  Can't wait to see how yours come out.  I brought Cavalier Waffle pattern Zimm at local hobby shop last weekend for a StuG.  Just had to get it...

Really appreciate you following my build and taking your time to comment.  It is always great having you around.

Andy -- a monumental job, sir! I LOVE it! I'm dying to get back to mine, my magazine feature build should be finished today (I know, it's been a six-week slog...)

Great stuff, you've lead from the front on this!

Cheers, Mike/TB379

Hey Skit!  It was a fun build and I learned so much about this rare variant.  They built 50 of those.  My favorite thing I have learned about this... it uses Pz IV turret instead of standard Pz III turret.  You will notice that the turret is bigger than the hull!  So it offered more room for second radio set and use an actual gun.

Glad you liked it!  It was fun having you along.

Beautiful build there DP. And interesting too... that K has features that I thought were only on the later production Mk IIIs , the M/Ns,  such as the larger single piece TC hatch and the wading exhaust...

F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!

U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!

N is for NO SURVIVORS...

Guys- I am calling it done... now we can scratch Pz III K off the list.

I REALLY appreciate you tagging along and delivering great builds to this GB.   Hope we will see few more completed builds before we close this GB.

Guys- I really like this base from MIG... it made things easier for me to do a base since time is not always a luxury at my end.

Earlier I had the base primed with black.  Sprayed three different tones of brown on the base.  Then painted tan on the wood.  I added darker tone to some wood so they won't look too monotoned...

Then heavily thinned W&N Raw Umber was applied to the base especially the wood...

I think I only need to do one more thing... apply same MIG pigments I used on the panzer. then I will call it done.  Thanks for looking!

Hasen- Thanks man!  Glad you liked it... will take better pictures with my best camera Canon after the base is done.  I use iPhone to take pictures because it is just a lot easier to upload pictures directly to PhotoBucket.com.

Have you seen my StuG F/8 with winter camo?  You will enjoy it if you haven't seen it.

I don't think I mentioned that I got new air compressor and I noticed it is a lot easier to paint at low pressure now.   I think I had it set at 20 psi...

Can't wait to start my Tiger build either... definitely before the weekend because I can not wait that long. LOL

Very cool indeed. It all came together quite nicely. Lots of great effects to look at. I'll have to try some of that AK chipping stuff in the future... maybe on my winterized Stug III F8? I really like the mud spatter created from blowing paint/pigs off the brush with air. (What pressure did you use? How much on the brush? Inquiring minds wanna know!)

Looking forward to the start of your Tiger build. Should be another great one.

Carl- Thanks my friend!!  Appreciate you staying with me til the end.  Smoke pigment has been applied last night. LOL  Case closed...

Armor86- It was fun building this.  It was not part of my projected build for this year but thanks to this GB I wanted to close that gap and I went for it with hep from Satch Ip for selling me the set he planned to build it.

Can't wait to finish the base hopefully within few days so I can start my next build Tiger...

Deafpanzer - Looks great, weathering effects and finish really look as if you were looking at the real deal. Started the Tiger I and assembled the first of many PE details .... Armor86
