Here is another one, the SU-27PD I don't know what difference there is between this and the other versions, but this has no infa-red seeker in front of the windshield, but does have an air to air refuelling probe.

I like that camo scheme as well. It was a tough decision for me if I should go with the splinter-camo or this one. I decided to paint my bird in the former one.

Cheers, Clemens

I will be bringing my Flanker along to this GB, as soon as the Dragon is finished. But here is a video for inspiration, and also these are the colours I will be using. the black/white/grey is one of the best in my opinion.

Take your time.   As you can see, things move quite slowly in here.   I ruined the metallic paint on the Su-27UB posted above, so it must be fixed or scrapped.

I'm in on this one.

Trumpeter's big SU-27B is the kit I'll build. (Whith an Aires cockpit)

But I warn you, I wont be touching my flanker for a while (i want to practice on some other builds first...)

Well, I guess I can officially call this build done now. Opened up the mailbox on Friday to find my "completion prize" from Dre in the mail! ( except as only I could do, I popped the nose probe off & re-glued after pics...)

The li'l guy may need a booster seat!

And a completely unexpected bonus, compliments of the Ukrainian Embassy, I assume ;)

Thanks again Dre for running this GB - i think it's safe to say we all had a blast!

Not much to report, but I did shoot the last of the metallics on the engine panels over the past weekend and then stripped off the paint from some K-36D resin seats as I found better references to use.

I haven't felt like doing much modeling so far this year....   I'm just kind of burned out at the moment (and I still need to send that package northwards, sorry to have dropped the ball on that Vance.)

I am still around, finally got some paint down on the second entry.  After becoming disgruntled with how the weapons bay was turning out I glued a faring over it sanded it down a bit and began to paint.  This one will hang from the ceiling in my kids room I am thinking.  Will try and get some pics this weekend.

Goofing off, I expect.   I haven't Bsyamato over here in a while so I don't know how his Su-34 is going.

I finally put some gloss black down on the engine panels on my 2nd. -27 in preparation for the metallics...  that ought to take a while due to some "ideas" that I have for that work.

Other than that, nothing is going on in here.

Spent a good portion of last night smoothing and polishing the fuselage of my latest Su-27UB C with 600-grit paper and then 1200-grit paper to remove the lovely pebble finish that Trumpeter so thoughtfully used on the upper fuselage and wings....  no way to get a gloss finish when the plastic itself is heavily textured..

"95% completed". A couple of touchups needed, some more work on the base, and weapons load to be mounted....

Thanks for the offer Dre, I've moved on though!!  Tried some decals scrounged from various sources - some worked, some didn't. And at 1/72 (with overly-thick fins for the scale) it got really difficult to work with them.

Then I tried just touching the front edge of the fins, mixed results again, hard to maintain thickness from one to the next, even comparing side so i..... went ROGUE!!! The fins got the all-black treatment, rivet-counters be darned.... ;)
