I wasn't aware of such a GB until i did a search and found this one. It is from 2007, which explain why i hadn't seen it. I assume its the one you mean.

Hello all,

i am still researching the details the a10 kit i have it is the revelle/monogram kit 1/48. i am searching for someone or a Hog to model her after.t am having great difficulty finding details, guess this is what research is for …should have started earlier. Here are a few i was and are thinking about:

http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/Stories1/001-100/0016_A-10-battle-damage/story0016.htm

this one i tried to find decals for… twobob's said they carried it once but do not intend to carry it again. so this one is out, unless i find the decals ebay.. was a no-go.

http://dstorm.eu/pages/en/usa/a-10.html

scroll down and find 78-0582 "Alligator". i like this one because of the kills it had and has a greater history. this one has some photos and i think i can find the decals for a "Cajuns" version with a few mods.

http://modelingmadness.com/reviews/mod/huia10.htm

i found this site for a gave me some ideas on a few mods i would like to do for this particular kit.

so you see i am still looking not saying a group build would be out of the question because we have to think of a few things:

1. economy of build for us poor people

2. if we were to start this most after market parts for some kits are no longer produced or supported.

3. skill in scratch or kitbashing to get a particular theme Hog so i think a person should choose thier own to model after as i think one should choose a particular one IMHO. with a history...

4. skill set in building a Hog we would need particular help in the Group build a moderator of sorts who could dedicate some time to each person’s particular build and respond in a timely manner to each question.

5. a good response to a request for a group build. myself it is a no brainer i am going to build her just who and what ship am i going to choose? Still searching but almost made up my mind on the last one.

What do you think peoples.

Depending on how attached you are to the kit you have, Academy make a 1/72 A-10 which contains markings for the above plane.

Would give you an opportunity to add some battle damage too, given the reference photos you've found.

Hmmm, not necessarily, i think most people start a GB simply because they have a particular vehicle/plane/brand/war/period/whatever in mind and are keen to get others involved in building something along those lines.

Remember - the host of the GB doesn't have to have all the answers - others who join will often have knowledge that the host may not.

My 2 cents

I'm up for it.I built the Tamiya A10 as a teen and I'd love to try the Revell version.
