Yes, that looks perfect! Love the contrast between the low-viz grey and the bright numbers!

As always, I love your work BSY. That's a great scheme on that Draken too. I might add it to the list of Draken schemes that I will get onto one day.
Cheers
Tony
I'm just taking it one GB at a time.
...Actually finished..

Hope to get outdoor pictures during next week, otherwise will take kitchen finished pictures :(

Yeah, I kinda figured the high-viz markings would be quickly painted over if trouble broke out. Just still seems sorta incongruous to me!
Gamera That's a lot of detail for a 1/72nd bird, though the Draken I believe was a pretty big plane. Nice work on the decals- though it still seems odd to me for the Swedes to paint her in low visibility grey and then put bright red numbers on her!

If I'm not mistaken, the hi-viz numbers were used for training scenarios, but you see a LOT of pics with them still in place. All I know for sure is it looks kinda sharp. ;) Bsyamato - LOVE the work on that Draken, net trick for the wheel wells too, I may have to try that myself.
More:
This time washing before decals..engraved lines was so tiny
And decals.. lots of decals

Thanx Cliff :) really appreciated .
Actually glossed, washed panels and glossed again.. waiting for decals :)
Bsyamato: Have to say again I just love your brush painted pre-shading, I think this may be the best one yet! And the different metallic panels look just right!
More updates:
Detailed the main wells cieling with aluminuim thin foil
detailed the front well too and made some differences between aluminium panels
black before more aluminium paint
and aluminium (silver drybrushed) on
other painted details
other details painted, more differences on aluminium panels and a first strike of weathering
Fuel tanks too
Lots of pieces paintings..
Finally unfreezed the draken :)
Painted gears and wheels
Other pieces under painting too
replaced the under light grey with a few light grey, also start the shading step
Shaded the top too
Masked and painted the aluminium zone, after i tried to difference panels.. soon will post more
It looks great Vance, I love the shape of the thing too. If I had the bandwidth, I'd go again on this GB, but its a few months before I can squeeze one in.
Thanks guys! Gamera... pre-shading... nope, spray-bombed the whole thing, a little panel line wash, Tamiya weathering pastels along the edges of the panels!
She looks great Vance! I like the pre-shading there on the grey. Looking forward to seeing her from some more angles.
LOL! great build Vance i see others pictures too!!
... between others i have a draken to finish
~BUMP!~
In celebration of the completion of my Saab JAS39 Gripen, which I had hoped to slip into this group build:

It does have some crazy, sharp edges...
Yes, Vance- but now I think the kit hates me...
This Halloween it's going to come to life and lunge for my throat.....
lol, Gamera!!! If I can mask a 1/72 Flanker, you can mask that Viggen! Finish it up buddy!!!!
Um thanks for bringing this up- my Viggen is still sitting there, half masked - staring at me saying 'get off your lazy butt and finish me slob...'
Sub - did you finally tame that airbrush?
Thanks for the positive comments guys. The Draken is now one of my favorite aeroplanes.
...Speaking of painting...
After far too long, I finally got the first section of paint done on my Saab. Unfortunately, after so long, my airbrush and I don't seem to be getting along very well. Oh well, we'll see how it turns out!
Tony that Draken is stunning! I actually saw that kit in a LHS the other day and almost grabbed it... until I saw the price tag! Oh well.
And I agree with the 90/10 rule. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I hate painting and weathering.
