Primed it. Needs a small amount of tidying up only. This is my first time with Mr Surfacer 1000, love it.

Bit more progress on the Tiffie, it's ready for a wash and some paint now. I cut out the kit exhausts, which were ordinary, and inserted some Quickboost ones. You can see how I had to add some plastic strip to fix where I butchered it in the close up.

It's got a CMK cockpit set. It's didn't fit to owell, as it was too bulky to fit between the wheel wells and prevented the wing from joining to the fuselage. I used my Dremel to grind quite abit of resin of the set, and some plastic off the inside of the  wheel wells.

I finally got some time to work on the Whirlwind and managed a basecoat of.....MM SUBLIME! from their Custom Lacquer System

Detail painting and markings to follow - hopefully tonight.

And a little bit of progress, in between building and painting my Draken. I've drilled out the spent shell ejection chutes, which were molded as shallow depressions, and flattened the tyres.

Tony, I would just go ahead. I am not sure if OWL will be back for a while. Look forward to seeing it.

Thank you, Clemens!  IIRC, they have an SPG called a Basilisk(?) but on a different chassis.

I finally got started on my build of the Warhammer 40k Whirlwind.....

I'm in with a P-47 Thunderbolt with german markings:

I'll use Tamiya's 1:48 Razorback kit with a little bit of AM stuff (seatbelts, gun barrels, engine and decals)

This will be a crossover with the Reich Defenders GB.

I think silver penciling has replaced salt chipping as my favorite weathering effect. It takes a little longer, but I like the subtilty of the effect.

Well,... i have been working on the hurricane's office for a bit. Strangely enough there was no sidewall detail whatsoever on the right hand side.... I know the brits drive on the left but this was a bit too little for me so i conjured up some details using leftover PE

Added a trimwheel and a little handle to the right as well while i was at it..

After that it was straightforward paintwork...drybrushing and washes to dirty it up

IP received some color, drybrush with white and gunmetal and a few dabs of future for the dials

And last but not least i decided to add the figure to liven things up a bit more. Should look adequate after everything is buttoned up

Same story with the figure... acrylics and then an artist oil black wash to bring out features a bit

So,... ready for the big close up after this all cured a bit!

Thanks...I believe it is "Meadow Green"; letting paint I inherited from my dad(who may have inherited from HIS dad) and may very well contain lead.

...but I still this it makes a nice Nakajima green.

Yeah, I've always loved the Viggen and the four-colour scheme. Somehow I convinced myself to try it out for Vance's Sweden GB, and since Viggen is Swedish for Thunderbolt I figured I'd cross-post her over here.

Oh goodie goodie! While the kit itself isn't exactly a highly detailed Tamigawa, i still think it will be fun to do! Something about the hurricane that always caught my eye...

Having never built an Airfix kit before makes it extra interesting for me personally. Opening up the box i find a simple kit with a low parts count, giving me a distinct "cheap monogram" feel if you will:

While the cockpit is pretty spartan and the canopy regretfully a one piece affair i do like the engraved panellines and the fuselage captures the hurricane's lines pretty well.

Nice thing to note is the fact that the instructions have colored painting schemes. Paint callouts are for humbrol paints. The decal sheet looks well printed and offers two different planes to choose from

Initial dryfit of the fuselage parts makes me feel this kit is going to need some putty to get seams and gaps to dissapear but i must say the price tag on this kit (12 euro's,.. bout 16 bucks) made me suspect as much and i really don't mind as i intend this kit to be a fun quickie.
