FYI, the model is a pleasant sight for these eyes. My father was the Aviation Radioman on Crew 2, VPB-150, for its overseas deployment to first Tarawa and then Tinian between March 1944 and March 1945. He flew 55 combat missions against the Empire of Japan. This plane was number 892. It was called Sea Deuce (Crew 2). The plane was actually named after the pilot's (LT Robert Swan) wife, "Beverly Jean". I have pictures of the plane with "Sea Deuce" visible on the after part of the fuselage and with the Devilfish on the top turret. My uncle was in the same squadron with his brother, my father, and flew with Crew 12. It's top turret included "eyes" for the Devilfish.
