Well, I got started on my 95 Chevy Blazer.  It's a gift for a friend of mine who was a security chief for the large property developer, he was with the residential communities division.  Here's a few pics.....

the seats and console (interior is primer grey)

the interior floor pan and side walls

the chassis under construction, on the sprue- the flash was quite noticeable on some sprues

the chrome wheels, after dull coating

the incomplete V6 Vortec engine - I should of used Humbrol metal cote flat aluminum on the tranny

Well, I don't have anything that fits the bill, but I do want to follow this. It's a very interesting idea!

I'd be interested... First I have to buy a car... But I already have one picked out. I figured I'd like to do this because I do plan on becoming an officer with the NCPD, which I want to model the kit after. But none-the-less... I'd be interested...

I bought a Lindberg Ford Crown Vic. I had to buy it on Ebay because it was basically all I could afford with some left over on my WalMart debit card. Bought it for $5.00 plus $5.00 shipping. Now I have to get a new lighting bar, new decals, and some interior stuffs. First the kit has to arrive...

Incredibly, the kit should arrive around April 12-13... as it turns out, I'm going to be getting quite a few deliveries on those dates: a knife I ordered will arrive around then and a holster that I might've ordered a second time might arrive then as well.

Mikey: FYI - the kit lightbar may be pre-colored, if so, don't worry - the pre-coloring can be removed by soaking in 90% denatured alcohol overnight.

I know. I've found clear bars that I'm going to get. But I can't get them right now because A) I haven't even gotten the kit yet, and B) I need to put more money on my debit card. I basically have the build planned out in my head right now.

ok late in posting but, since MPs are included i have an M-706 or an M-1117 4x4 that would fit the bill. a tad concerned about the sept deadline given Nationals are up trhe road this year.

Wayne: Welcome to the build! The deadline could be extended if there's more interest.

Well, I've suffered a set back of sorts.  Seems Testors has discontinued the "Primer Grey" in their Auto Lacquer line.....  I hadn't finished painting the all interior components of my Blazer, not to find an alternative shade of grey.

I prefer acrylics & lacquers - so I went with MM/ACRYL gunship grey.  It's just slightly darker than the primer grey, but it has a semi-gloss vinyl look when dry and it adds a nice two-tone to the interior.

thanks for the suggestion, Mikey.

No problem. I like the enamels... Just because I've always used them and they're pretty inexpensive...

Update: I've only looked at the kit.. I'm pretty disgusted with it and Lindberg... It's one of those easy-assemble kits... with a pre-painted body and screw together attachments... It doesnt even come with an engine.... Need list to say, I'm pretty upset that I spent $11  just to buy this thing...

i'm sure you know this but others may not. i read a post complaining about a primer that didn't work. turns out it was a primer COLOR but not an actual primer.

30SEP shouldn't be a problem. both are cadillac gage 4x4s though the guardian has a lot of additional armor stuff on it. single color unless i find the 706 with another nation. already built one of these variants so i know what to watch out for. and it will be after nationals when i may need an easy lbuild to regain my sanity, if that is possible.

Mikey: you got that kit cheap!  It's actually the only Crown Vic on the market and usually looks great, once completed, considering it's a "curbside" kit.  There's no real issues when building it and it has a great interior, even though the prisoner cage is a bit thick.

Yeah. It does look nice... And I know that its the only one on the market. I contacted Hasegawa about it, suggested a new product, and I also contacted Revell about a new product as well.

Do you know if a '64 Dodge 330 Super Stock was ever used as a police car?

Hm... I guess not... Oh we'll. If I have time after some of my other near-complete builds are done (I still have about 5-8 kits that are WIPs or aren't even started), I'll do that as a police car. So that's up in the air

weather warmed up so i got 3 kits primed yesterday. here is the cadillac-gage M-706 MP vehicle. wish it had a good interior given all the hatches. normally i would have put almost everything together except the fiddly stuff (mirrors especially) but i have a new airbrush and want to play with colors and filters. i think i will add a little red brown to the OD for the suspension and add a little yellow or dirty white to the OD for all the hatches. vision blocks are clear including frame so will hand paint the frame and use clear green for the glass. may even A/B the clear. not sure if i am using MMA or polyscale OD. jerry can on back will be a darker green with a red or yellow top indicating oil. probably light weathering, mostly dust and road dirt, not a lot of mud.

Wayne: looks great.  Did you paint it before or after you installed the vision blocks?

I have one built but I 'm stuck at the vision blocks - not sure if I should install/mask vision blacks or paint separate and install post-vehicle painting.  Mine will be marked as a civilian PD SWAT vehicle.
