GB Crossover ?
Posted by 68GT on Sunday, May 19, 2013 2:32 PM

I keep seeing it mentioned and I never gave it much thought but what is a Crossover when it comes to a GB?

When you have one build in more than 1 GB. Usually its ok, but on the odd occasion the host will list no cross overs as one of the rules.

OK, so I guess if you really wanted a badge bad enough that was the way to get it?  I'm kind of confused about it.

Well, its not so much getting the badge, but sharing your build with as many people as possible. Both of my current builds are in 2 GB's. I usually try and avoid it, but after they had both been entered into one GB, others came up which I wanted to join in but wouldn't be able to commit a kit just to those GB's.

OK, I see now.  It would be like me  putting my Navy F-4G in the Nam Airpower GB and in the US Carrier Aviation GB.

Yep, that's it 68GT. I never used to do it, but have realised that it makes the GB forum busier and hopefully more interesting. I now do it for almost every build if I can.

It also lets me support more GBs, and hopefully make it more worthwhile for the people who put the effort into running them.

That's just my opinion only, of course.

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Exactly. Sometimes your build overlaps more than one GB subject area. Yes it could be used to grab up GB badges if that sort of thing matters to you...

It would be good as I have seen good GBs go stagnant from time to time.
