Chuck I do it by doing all the painting first, I just hide the mess under the seat.  I never glue any of the upper parts, just bend them to fit.

From recent experience,  do not try to glue on seat belts after painting the seats!  Paint both well after the glue, usually CA, has cured.   I just made a mess of mine tonight……  blah!

EDIT:  Just came up with a brilliant solution- I will build the aircraft with its wings folded, so you won't be able to see the seat!
