Just to keep the Don in the loop, I have the Paddy Wagon and a B-24D waiting for MM IV. I plan to do the B-24 as PB4Y, I just have to get the markings figured out.

Sorry, Stik, er, Don.  Misprint,  The list is updated, added the AV-8B on the same line.  Do you think the F-117 was an original AMT mold?

LOL! Good question... I have not kept up with 1/72 scale as much as the larger scales.... have to look into that....

I am pretty sure the Hs-129 was originally an ESCI mold.  I have that release and an AMT release, the ESCI has a 1983 copyright and the AMT kit is 1994.  Looks like the Don will have to "adjudicate" as to what is and is not an AMT kit.  They even issued the Matchbox 1/32 SBD and Spitfire Mk 22/24 under the AMT label.

They also did the 1/32 Lysander, Sea Venom, Puma, and Bf-109E under their boxing. But those are all originally Matchbox kits from England. On your list, you show a 1/48 AV-8 Harrier. I believe that kit is 1/72. For decades, the only 1/48 Harrier kits were Tamiya and Monogram.

The Hs-129 would not be allowed. That is originally an ESCI mold. But the F7F family is original AMT, so it would be allowed. And the Amtech line released by AMT would be good also. As long as they are of US origin like their P-40L. But not the Hs-123... that is an ESCI.

What is and is not an AMT kit can be pretty broad, as many of there kits were previously ARII, or ESCI and others, there was a lot of mold swapping.

Here is a list of what may be all original AMT molds, but I am sure there are errors, I am particularly suspect of the F-117.

Hey John, thanks for the list!  Very cool.  I have the F7F-2N.  I also have a Hs-129B (#8684).  Wonder if that would be allowed if he does the AMT kits too?  Great list!  Made me go through my stash and look around!  LOL!

Hey, Italeri has released the AMT B-52 this year, so it would be an easy acquisition for this go around.

Now a question for the already made family members... what do you think about opening the GB to include AMT/ERTL kits (of US origin molds, not the ESCI molds they obtained) in with the Monovell US molds?

No problem here

Well the original intent was because there were so many "Monogram/Revell kits are junk, stay away from them" posts on here, that the folks who knew otherwise could show them wrong. And have a little camaraderie while doing so. MPC... now I had not even thought of them. I remember building lots of their aircraft kits, but I think they were all of Airfix origin. i knew that AMT is known for car models primarily, but MPC kits sound like fair game too... as long as the molds are of US origin. And I do know of your penchant for car builds on occasion.

I'm good with allowing their aircraft kits, as I understand the question. However, as they're more known for automotive subjects, would that be an option? To add another monkey to the barrel, would the MPC range of subjects be included since they and AMT are under the Round 2 umbrella?  I understood that since the original intent was to show how Monogram kits stack up well against more modern tools, the automotive subjects wouldn't meet that criteria as there isn't a modern competitor to them. I understand, though, that automotive subjects have been allowed in the previous builds, as I have been guilty of doing them.Embarrassed

That said, I'm good anyway you want to go for cars.

Stik has already stated that he will be starting up another on in June sometime. He's got a lot on the workbench he has to clear before he can get started on a new one.

Patience gents! La Familia will start again soon!
