Gloss black preshade is now on the MiG, just waiting for it to cure a little before the next step... also painted a 1/32 Bf 109 over the weekend too.
Agreed! She's a beauty! Would look good on anyone's shelf.
That is well done, Theuns.
I've had some issues with my compy, so I had to register a new account here... but all is not l
Theuns, that's a beautiful model plane sir! Bravo indeed. Wow...

"All you mugs need to get busy building, and post pics!"
Theuns, that looks fantastic! Actually, both MiGs look better than fantastic- they're great!
Really nice work with the Alclads.
Calling it completed
SHenyang F-6b Chinese AF
Interesting to see how different background colors and sun/shade makes the alclad look totally different.
And then a nice comparason with the Trumpeter MiG 17
Looking good, despite decal disaster!
Decals on, clearcoat on, now to outfit with gear and weapons
Theuns
Mostly managed to get them inplace with a corner missing here and there, almost looks like the paint of the insignea chipped off....that's my story and I'll stick with it :-)
Bah, that's too bad. Hope the majority of them were salvageable.
In other Cold War Russian Jet News, Xuntong is apparently releasing a 1/48th Yak-28P:

Might have to get me one of these!
I just put the decals on and allot of then broke up, I had to carefully place them.....must have been an old kit maybe :-(
Oh man! That's awesome. Nice and subtlety done NMF, Theuns! Can't wait to see it finished.
And for some reason I just now realized you're doing the same kit I was going to do....? In any event, home reno project drags on, so my workbench is out of commission for a couple more weeks. :-(
My latest update, shades of alclad dark and airframe allumnium. Ink pinwash. Need to sand now for decals.
Thanx
Bring on the J-6! Cockpit detail looks great.
That blue is a mix of what ever blue ad green I had availabe, the HS did not have the color I needed in stock.
I really like the look of that plane, looks like you got the exact shade of blue for your cockpit as mine, I wonder if Trumpeter will ever make the su7 I think it looks like the Mig 21s big brother.
Not sure yet, I want to keep it "cheap" and it will be kit decals for that. Maybe the Chinese NMF scheme will work well, I do not have a Chinese plane in my collection.
OK, here is is sofar, out the box, I just added belts.
The kit has some good detail...
The detail on the airframe is really nice, just a pitty I had to fill and sand allot of it away :-( My rescribe attempts might not be good enough. Theuns

Well thats far better for me as well, I would say I will have time to get the mig restarted and finished by then. Also Theuns I would just go ahead and make the J-6 it's the same thing, what colour scheme will you make it?
If Oct is the deadline I would like to come play, BUT still need to know of a Chinese J-6 (Mig 19) will be OK?
October, it is. :-)
Happily I only had to shovel the walkways once this year, and that was enough for me and my ticker.
So... October then?
Lol! Sadly, my self-criticism usually runs longer than 50 pages (a lifetime?). :-)
And your raking sounds like the snow shoveling I had to do here in January in February. Ugh. During the last big storm I hit a new level of consciousness around hour three...then realized I was just dehydrated.
In any event, October sounds like a good adjusted deadline.....
Da, tovarish. Something about eggs and omelets, I think....
Dre May 1st is too close after April, so maybe an extension to October?? (dates in keeping with the bad Soviet-themed humor)

Of course, that would be a Red October, nyet?
Sorry Comrade PB, but even Kommissars must do their duty for the Motherland!
Please complete this 50-page self criticism by Thursday so we don't have to send you off for 're-education'.
Just kidding! Life and real work have eaten all my build time this year to date, so I have no progress either. But the good news is that I completed 7 hours of raking all the winterfall and dead stuff out of my yard yesterday, so even if I had time tonight to build, I can't because I can't lift my arms.
Har! I'd like to. But right now in the middle of a home renovation, so my basement workshop is packed away. :-( Hope work will be done in a month or two.
Yeah, I'm gonna need an "extension" myself; work on my Flogger has been kinda sloooow.
Hey, come on PB, pick a MiG!
