Anyone interested in a Carrier Air Wing 7 GB (Air Group 7)? Could be anything involved with the air wing (props, jets, choppers, ships). I was thinking maybe 6 months for this one (start today and build to July 10).

Hi 68GT,
I'd be interested if I can do a USN pilot figure. Possibly Verlinden's Top Gun bust or WW2 USN Fighter Pilot, Pacific Theatre.
Cheers
Tony
I'm just taking it one GB at a time.
Figures are fine also as long as you can somehow work a story into Air Wing 7. I know in WWII CV-11 (Intrepid) spent time at the Marshalls, Philippines and Okinawa.
I wanted to build this decal sheet and then I realized the veriety of subjects that are out there on this one. Unfortunatly the color is wrong for the F9F-2.
Let me check the decal stash. I take it anything with the tail code AG is in?
Buddy- Those who say there are no stupid questions have never worked in customer service.
Pretty much unless you have something from WWII or Korean War.
I have a trump 1/48 F-9f in the stach wit decals for this -

Would it qualify? I am nit clued up on the theatre of operation.

Sorry, but from what I can see VF-112 was in Air Wing 11 and I dont see much on VF-781. Maybe someone else with a better WWII and Koren War knowledge might be able to find something differently. The early stuff is a bit confusing to me.
No worries, next time then ;-)

According to your link, Air Wing 7 was flying off the Bon Homme Richard in Korea.

Thanks, excellent info. I knew at least USS Bonhomme Richard but didn't know if there were others.
If this is a go, put me down for the Trumpeter 1/72 RA5-C Vigilante in RVAH-1 markings. If time, Airfix's A-4B with Arma Hobby's A-4C conversion kit.
Sounds great!
Any other takers? I think I'm going to let this roll and maybe it will pick up speed as we go.
I'm lookin through my stuff to see if I have anything that will fit...
On the Bench: Lots of unfinished projects!
I'll add myself with a 1/48 TA-3B from VQ-1 "World Watchers" on the USS Independence.
I have a Scooter that works with this - box art markings for the 1/48 Vietnam Scooters kit (Hasegawa plastic).
I've been wanting to build it, so now is as good a time as any.

Should we let this roll or die?
Lets do it!
