Everyone still interested please head over there and sign up, so I can add you to the roster.

I did not see an 'Official' GB thread for this but I would certainly like to join with a 1/35 Academy Bradley. Building it for a younger cousin of mine that drove them early in OEF.

Looks like the start date is decided on:

I'm going to have it start on September 1st and have it run for exactly one year.

Thanks, Cliff. Most of the time I don't even know what exactly I'm doing in PS, but with enough messing around, even I can get some results I like.
If you want to enter with the M1A2, that would be a nice one to watch, but those started kits are fine too if you'd prefer to finish them instead.

Lost, I actually had to look that one up. Looks like an interesting addition to the GB roster!

Thanks Clemens!!! That's one nice looking badge! And it looks like you've got enough members to make a go of this. Plus, from the GBs I've run a half-dozen or so more folks will trickle in when you announce the GB for real.

BTW: I looked though my stash and if you'd rather not go with a half-built model I do have a Dragon 1/35th M1A2 SEP2 Abrams with the parts still in the plastic bags. If you start this in the fall I could always just take her with me on vacation/holiday in November and work on her.

I will put my hand up for this GB too, like others I will be ready at the end of the year. My kit will be the Showcase models kit of the Bushmaster APC, been waiting for a GB to work on it.

I'd like to join too please, I've been looking for an excuse to build some of these kits. In fact lack of a GB has held me back !

I agree on the lack of entrants for armor GBs, but I figure the only way to promote them is actually to go ahead with them and hope the crowd builds over time.

Nice job on the Group badge.

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Looks good, count me in when it gets rolling, or tracking, as the case may be.

I went ahead and created a badge for this GB:

I don't have a lot of experience with using Photoshop, but I think it turned out OK...

I'm glad there are people interested in this and I completely understand that the summer months are not the best time to start a GB.

I'll probably set it up to start on September 1st and run for a year. That should give everyone who can't join in until next year plenty of time to finish their builds, as well as permitting others to start a bit earlier.

Cliff: I suppose 2/3rds built is fine. It's pushing it a bit, but since building a kit isn't even half the work needed to make a finished model, it's not a huge problem.

Jack: Wheeled armor will be included too, so no need to worry about that one.

Same here, interested as not been in an armor build.  Have an OIF Brad, but wouldn't be a go until next year as got to get house livable, and other builds wrapped up, along with a 1/72 Gato done by Oct. 11th that hasn't been started yet........

I am interested, however, I would not be able to start until the end of this year, or next year. I have a few M1's that I'd like to unleash.

I could be interested if it includes armour on wheels, but honestly would not be able to start anything until next year.

Jack

I'd be interested, but I've joined so many and since it's summer, I tend to slow down with model building. And World of Warcraft has a new expansion coming out next month so I've been using my free time getting my toons ready.

I hope so too. Armor GBs seem to get a lot less interest than aircraft ones on this forum.

I was thinking of starting this on August 1st and having it run for a year...

Ye, thats why i gave up hosting them. Most of the  armour builders that used to take part in GB's have left. But ye, i should be able to squeeze somthing in next year.

Clemens: Any idea on how far along you want to go with? I tend to take a model kit along with me on vacation/holiday so I have something to work on while watching TV in the motel room. Mostly tank kits since I can assemble a lot of stuff and clean up road wheels and track links without having to paint like an aircraft. So I've got a bunch of stuff about half to 2/3 assembled without any paint on them stocked away I haven't gotten to yet. Last one is Panda's 1/35th modern Chinese ZTZ-99.

Nice idea, i hope this gets off the ground, i gave up hosting armour GB's. Depends on your time frame as my bench time is pretty full but i do have a few modern British armour kits.

Since I finally have enough time on my hands to actually contribute to this forum again, I was thinking about hosting a GB.

We already have one going for modern aircraft, but none for modern armor, so that sounds like a good topic to me.

If enough of you show interest here, I'll set up a proper GB thread.

As far as the rules go, everything that first entered service after WW2 would be good imo, but if you guys want, we can narrow that down a bit more.

Crossovers are ofc welcome as well, as are started builds, up to a certain point of completion.

If you have any suggestions or want to join, please let me know here.

Cheers, Clemens
