The Corsair is neatly painted and decaled, Nick.  I look forward to seeing it finished.

John,Gamera and Justin. Many thanks for your comments. The weather has been typical t-storms in afternoon. I need to plan to paint a light coat of clear flat to cut the shine in the A.M. but would like to add a Hasegawa F-86 in 1/48

I'm hoping to get back to it this weekend, so I will try to remember to take extensive photos when I get to it!

Crown, that corsair is amazing!

Hey again, y‘all! Happy belated Memorial Day!

Good work on that Corsair, crown!

Justin, are you gonna use Alclad, the foil method, or something else for that NMF?

Ive been using Vallejo Metal Air colors for brush painting accents for a while now, I think I am going to spray this bad boy with them...

Good deal! I‘ll see how it works for ya! Yes :)

Justin. The vallejo metal paints work well.

The F4U-N with landing gear and some weathering started.

That looks good Justin! I too am interested in how they come out. I've only used Testor's Metalizer (hated it) and Alclad for metallic finishes.

Curious how it works out Justin. I have not had luck yet with model air but have been gathering tips for my next try. Good luck!

Its gotta be in a bare metal finish...c'mon now!  lol  I may darken the aluminum paint a little to give it that "bad guy" look, since he will be chasing an F86....

Looks good, what paint scheme you think of doing on it?

Got a little more done to the MiG15 this past weekend.  it turns out that the gear bay doors are molded bigger than the gear bay openings on this think and it took quite a lot of sanding and test fitting and subsequent filing to model this MiG  "in flight"...

Luckily, since I will be modeling it in flight, the underside wont necessarily be on display...

Yeah, not sure I'd apply a coat of clear with the humidity way up there.

I suppose I should watch a war movie for the holiday, only question is which one?

Justin: Looks good! Like the pilot, nice work!

Robert: Good to see her together! Looks like the running gear, tracks, and the spade are the only things left to add? The gun looks good, very lethal.

Nick: The decals look great! She really looks like a F4U now!

This isn't much of an update, brush painting is going rather slowly, but it's better than nothing!

Gamera. many thanks my friend.

I gave the F4U a clear gloss coat of Vajello clear varnish with 50%Testors universal acrylic thinner works well with that thick tacky varnish..

The Corsair is looking awesome!  I'm Diggin' the paintwork!

I have been meaning to get back on here and post some pics...I got started on the Eduard MiG 15 (1/72), starting with the 'pit, as usual...

I began to assemble the fuselage sides, and they were giving me some trouble, but I will get back to it tomorrow, since we have rain in the forcast...

I was rolling the dice with the AK interactive paint several mist coats then mist coats of clear for decals. Then either a semigloss or flat? did to test 1st.The flat is going to change the preshade. thanks again

Really, that's some sharp work.

I expanded the photos and I can see pre-shading there. Not too strong nor too subtle- looks just right!

Jack.its abit fusy when attaching the cowling.

this is the latest pics, with this AK paint its a must to primer 1st if not the paint runs and doesnt stick. I wonder if the decals would go on with out a gloss clear coat? The hasegawa decals are tempermental.

Thanks guys, this kit has been a real pleasure so far.

Nick - The M40 used a modified Sherman chasis, so it's not a terribly large kit.  It just looks bigger because of the "Long Tom" cannon.  Smile

Looking forward to your Corsair, one my favorite planes!
